Help！ Need English Rom support Chinese - Page 2

i see, well that makes sense...i was wondering whether that was the case.

But for emails, you said it was ok, however, when I send email to myself on hotmail, the emails I send from my phone is not viewable on pc or my phone when I receive it. But those emails sent in chinese from pc can be read on my phone as well as pc. I'm not sure why that is...although when I'm chatting with someone on msn on my phone and type in chinese, they can read it as well as when they type in chinese I can read it. that's what confused me...though if there's a way to fix it so can send text and emails that'd be great.

although i am korean, I also cant send email or txt in korean..
however I can chat in Korean in MSN messenger.

I heard that if the rom supports unicode, issues can be fixed.
However I heard that some one had that rom when we were using WM6.0 a while back ago
and I dont hear anybody making WM6.1 with foreign language support...

Its weird cause we can receive foreign language emails and view them, however we cant send one...

Try to delete "MSGType=1" in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER, ControlPanel, PhoneExtendFunction, CDMA", then you can send email or sms in Chinese/Korean.

Certainly, you should install Chinese/Korea language firstly.

My msgtype=2 and I tried it. Deleted, soft resetted and tried emailing myself on hotmail on my phone and when I received it, I couldnt read it on my phone, they became ??? marks. I then tried msgtype=1 since mine originally was 2, but still a no go, from what I can see, it has not effect on whether I can send emails (and possibly text since it was too late to send anyone a text so I didnt try)

same problem here.. best thing is to use any rom based on alltel and you'll be able to send fine...

what does alltel have that isnt in the kitchen? which carrier are you with and if not alltel, did you use a rom that is based on alltel and did it work?

Try to change MOSMSUseLatinEncode key in "HKLM/system/inbox/settings" from 1 to 0.

there is a setting or a driver in the alltel rom that isn't in any other rom... i cooked my own rom off the ppckitchen and the sms works fine because the rom is based on alltel. and my carrier is not alltel.. i have searched everywhere and tried a lot of settings in none alltel roms to enable unicode sms but with no luck

I tried this and still didn't work. I tried emailing myself and it still sees it as ???. In fact, I couldnt even send a message when I change this...had to change it back.

I haven't cooked a rom with alltel as the carrier since I'm on Bell, I don't know what problems this would cause if it's not the same as the carrier I'm on. I've accidentally used other carriers before and sometimes to no known ill effects but others, data didnt work at all etc. I'm tempted to try but I've just reflashed my phone and don't want to redo it again just to be dissappointed. You said it worked for you, what carrier are you with? Maybe it could be like someone already mention, to do with the networks...but I'm not sure. Anyone on Bell able to send chinese text via sms? If it really does work, I'd be interested in knowing what alltel added to make it work.

My Carrier is YMobile.. which is located in the middle east.. when i bought the phone it came with Sprint ROM and i couldn't send any unicode sms' till i switched to Hutch (before the GPS ROM came out) then tried pretty much all roms and only alltel worked ... as i said before i have tried pretty much all the settings to change the unicode in other roms but with no luck... even rstoyguy tried to help but still nothing worked except alltel's based rom. it's really weird and i really want to know what's the problem!!

i came to believe it something has to do with the SMS_Providers.dll but not sure!
