Re: Help! Need English Rom support Chinese
there was a chinese rom that was posted here a while back, I posed the question whether it'd be possible to port out the keyboard and fonts and whatever else is needed for chinese support. It was the dopod rom I believe...
I've used ce-star as well as another cab someone put together that allows chinese support but found that you cant send chinese text messages to others nor receive chinese text messages from others. |
Re: Help! Need English Rom support Chinese
It is possible to support chinese, but I don't have a chinese rom to liberate the files from. If someone wants to provide a link to a chinese (or any other language) rom, I'll add chinese support to the kitchen.

gguruusa,
here's the chinese rom that was posted a while back now. I don't know if the links still works. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25127 it'd be nice to have chinese support built in...maybe that would fix the problem of sending and receiving chinese text as installing ce-star and others allow you to view chinese but not send or receive in chinese. |
Re: Help! Need English Rom support Chinese
sprint does not support chinese text messages at all, even if your rom supports it.

not even chinese emails sent from my phone that can view chinese can be viewed by the receiver, but emails in chinese sent from a computer can be read on my phone. Here in Vancouver, those that have phones brought back from Hong Kong that have chinese support are able to send chinese messages to one another so I don't see why I can't receive/send to them when I can view chinese on my phone. One weird thing though, through msn, I can type and receive in chinese. |
Re: Help! Need English Rom support Chinese
GSM is different from CDMA... the text message system has to be able to support the big5 code, otherwise, when the text hits the system, it'll just turn them into "boxes"...
emails are ok since it does not go through the carrier's message center. |
