Help！ Need English Rom support Chinese

thank you Arlen for your kindness.. i have cooked myself a rom based on alltel and everything works fine... the thing which bugs me is what's responsible for sending sms in unicode.. what did the sprint or bell do to block that!?

and yes the arabic support cab has wince.nls and ttfs but not ac3s.. here is a copy if you want to take a look at it.. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...6&d=1221589262

Thanks for the cab, I found there is a reg for unicode in it. Please look at below:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s]
"SMSUnicode"=dword:00000001

Maybe, you could delete this line to disable unicode.

Now, I probably understand your problem, I met your problem at the beginning of last year. In this ROM, you could read, write Chinese, but in several programs, the Chinese is "%?&?&^$%*&$", right? It is caused by the Wince.nls. I think you just installed the font.

Well, please PM me your e-mail address, I will send several OEMs includ IMEs & CAB to you, you could add them into the Kitchen and build the ROM support Chinese.

I also have wince.nls, the cab I linked in the pm I sent you. Let me know if you're able to get it, otherwise when you email me I can send it to you so you can see what I mean. I think that cab installs the wince.nls since I have it already.

I am a noob, I would love to make my phone to have chinese localization on it (ie. all of the menu is in chinese). Does the method that Alren proposed here does that or it will only allow me to type in chinese? Thanks!!

if you want everything in chinese, you should get a chinese rom, they're around on the internet. But if you want english rom, with chinese support, all you need is to get the chinese fonts installed with and chinese input.

you could delete key "MsgType", and set "SMSUnicode"=dword:00000001.

After these steps are taken, you could solve the problem.
