I def am new in creating my own stuff and flashing it to my phone... but I have done many-a-flash on many different devices, some created by the maker of the device and others not. But never like this. This I would say is a little more complicated, even when I look back and fixing a device after a bad flash.

I just got off the phone with Alltel advanced tech support (trying to fix my no EVDO when roaming on my touch), she told me, that the 6.1 update may fix my EVDO problem, and continued to say it will be out by the end of the month.... I decided to ask more about that and she said that the REV A didn't fix some problems on the phone that they had hoped it would and took the upgrade off the web site so no one else would get it. They had delayed the 6.1 up for more testing to make sure the problems were really fixed this time. I am not sure on what the problems were... (Bluetooth? sounds more then just that...)
Anyways, again the 6.1 update should be out "soon".... Cheers! =D> (I hope)

I am in the process of considering a touch vs the 6800. I currently have the 6800 and due to the defective phones (7 Total) Alltel wants me to switch. My options are the Palm, Blackberry, or the Touch. I am considering the Touch over and above the rest. Blackberry charges for RIM, and Palm just flat out sucks. I don't really use my Wi-fi and aside from the slide out keyboard that is all I understand is the difference. Does the Touch have GPS? That is one thing I use on a regular basis with my 6800. Any advice would be appreciated.

I wanted to report that after I saw how badly I hated the M2D rom I loaded I went back to your 8-15 rom and have been extremely pleased thus far.

Thanks again for working towards such a reliable rom for the Alltel crew.

Yes and no. Well yes... It has GPS but the current version of the flash that Alltel supports does not have it working. It is supposed to be out last I heard by the end of this month from Alltel, but it was also supposed to be out last month too. They were trying to fix bugs or something and make sure they were really fixed this time as the last upgrade didn't, not sure what bugs... It was actually suppose to be out months and months ago so you really never know when it will be out. But if you get one of the un-offical roms off this site you may get it working.
