Then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and it will walk you through the promts for flashing. Best regards, -boggsie

Re: Bell ROM vs. Sprint ROM
Thanks for the instructions. So I'm assuming you're oviously saying Sprint OEM ROM is better than Bell. Any particular reason why it would be?

Re: Bell ROM vs. Sprint ROM
I had the Sprint Rom and the GPS kept falling off, and took some time to switch on. A kickstart app was required to get it going most of the time.
I have since been using the Bell Rom and find it's version has a faster lockup, longer up time with GPS than the SPRINT. I think more Vogue users should input their observations. I travel quite often. I find that the GPS lock/connection has something to do with the internet access. I am trying a few homebrew apps to measure this difference. I think the Sprint related server (Washington and California) is slower than the server in (BC, Alberta, ONT). Anyone else with their two cents on their observations? |

Re: Bell ROM vs. Sprint ROM
I find the bell radio bell than the sprint radio. Getting faster and much stronger and more sat locks than before. It must be something that Bell did with the radio and customizations.
I'm doing some testing with my phone as well and from what I can see, it does need data access to get quick locks. Having data off and blocked by "no data" will cause oncourse to never get a lock on sats. I can see it but it'll never get a lock. I find that if I have data off but not blocked by "no data", oncourse dials onto the data connection and eventually gets locks. I find that once you`ve already had locks to sats (ie not from cold start), even if you have data off and blocked by "no data" it will lock on to sats. The sats may already be in cache or something. |
