Been waiting for update too. There is conflicting info about this. Many say that it will be released at end of Aug. I sent an email to HTC to get official answer and here is the response –"Thank you for your inquiry regarding the launch of the new Alltel ROM.
We understand that it is important you receive all the information to best utilize your device.
Currently, our developers have to work with*Alltel to determine when and if a ROM upgrade will be available. Unfortunately, there is no estimated time for availability of any ROM update. Please check the HTC America website for any software updates that may be release

thanks, I didn't realize the 6900 was this way, not sure i want a 6900 now.. (don't need a keyboard on both phones, and the memory was tempting..)

but yea, a hardware mod might be possible if there's a trace on the board. got a good pic off it?

hmmm, did you notice there are 3 antenna jacks in those pics.

my logic would say cdma, bluetooth, and GPS!!! what else would the 3rd be?
the 6800 only has 1 external antenna jack (CDMA)

having the optional external bluetooth and gps antennas makes me lean back over to the "dark side" lol..

Yeah they didn't take too kindly to my request for an updated PPST file. They basically said the ROM will be ready when it's ready... so don't bother us with this crap. Looks like we might be waiting. They originally told me the update would be out by the end of August, now it seems like they're hedging their bets. The last email I got said (3rd Quarter), which would give them until the end of September.

gaaah i hate how there so smug about it... ill bet there the ones with alltel gps, if they use alltel and say haha we got gps and you dont!.... release the damn thing already, sprint and bell did!
