Re: Alltel GPS Issues
I too a sick of waiting for the official release...but I did manage to get the update they put up on the HTC site for alltel before they took it down. Used the 4 enableGPS files and I have GPS working perfectly. I put garmin on and it works GREAT. I can get get locks inside the house and I used the navigation for a 3 hour trip I took this weekend...no problems. It even gave me the traffic updates and detours.

Re: Alltel GPS Issues
louie,
i think he just used the the evdo rev a rom thats been out for a while. its just not on the htc site anymore. it is on the htc servers still but no link on the htc website but u can still get it. u need to patch the rom for gps to work. its has GPS capabilities but is not officially supported. the patch its the 4 files thing. |
Re: Alltel GPS Issues
I had a feeling that is what he was referring to. Installed them a couple of months back. Just wishfull thinking.

Re: Alltel GPS Issues
ok, see this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36377 if u have a gps rom this will work. the key step is the unchecking and rechecking of the boxes part. must use qpst, not registry edit it should work for the 6900 |
Re: Alltel GPS Issues
I can confirm that this does work with the 6900, after a hard reset, it will over write these settings, but still it is a long way to come, and now it does feel like there is actual GPS on the touch.

Re: Alltel GPS Issues
Does anyone know what WM build the new Alltel 6.1 will be? Just curious... Currently I'm using 20270.
