So is this freezing thing widespread or what?
I've had my Touch for about 8 months and never had the freezing issue (knock on wood). I usually don't charge the battery inside the phone overnight left plugged in though. I have a dedicated battery charger and usually swap them, which inherintly is a soft reset each time. But lately, I've been getting lazy and just plugging it in. BTW, I find that the stock charger is a bit too much current, as the battery gets a lot warmer. So I use an old Moto RAZR charger which has 500mA current. The battery barely gets warm, but it also takes much longer to charge, but for an overnight charge that is much better.

Re: Sprint's Touch: Overnight freezing, and my options

yea I also beleive it is an application, it is not S2U2 as I did not have it on my official rom and have it disabled in DHarvey's rom
if any1 wants to compare here is a list of processes my phone is running,

filesys.exe
Biotouch.exe
gwes.exe
device.exe
shell32.exe
tmail.exe
cprog.exe
services.exe
quickdial.exe
connmgr.exe
MediaHubMini.exe
taskmgr.exe
APLauncher.exe
smartskey.exe
NK.exe
VistaHide Battery Gauge.exe

I went to get a new charger, so we will see if it freezes with this one, but yes they tried talking me into an instinct as well, but I love the touch and just customized it so I doubt I will be switching even with the freezing. I'm sure its something stupid, and hopefully we can figure it out.

You should just take it into a store. unless there is no tech near you. they could check it out and possibly replace it without any money out of pocket

Re: Sprint's Touch: Overnight freezing, and my options

well I didnt buy the phone from sprint. I bought it locally from someone on CL, they used it for about a week, then we called sprint and switched it over to me, so with that in mind they will prob want to charge me.

Picked up replacement Touch today.

Will post if I run into any more issues or have the same thing happen.

The official one on HTC's site - the .4 WM 6.1 one. I don't remember if I had the same problem on the stock ROMs, but threaded texting is enough reason for me to want to go with 6.1.

Certainly will. All I've noticed so far is that the slide "flap" over the microSD slot seems to not line up just right with the rest of the chrome trim (oddly annoying), and that the screen has a slightly different color saturation to it than my previous one.

Anyone have any fixes for that chrome trim thing? I can't seem to get it to be flat with the damn casing of the phone.

Re: Sprint's Touch: Overnight freezing, and my options

My phone kept locking up after the new HTC Sprint ROM.
Happened every time I used Opera Mini. No inputs would work, I could only turn the screen off, but not back on again. Always required a soft reset.

I found out that it was due to Opera Mini being in "socket" mode. I changed it to http, and now mine never locks up.

I also had a problem where the phone wouldn't wake up and run the alarm in the morning. As soon as I touched the phone the alarm would go off, late of course. I found I had to turn off time synch, and then reset the phone and turn time synch back on. I also do not put the phone to sleep when it is plugged in, I always leave it on, and let it turn the screen off at night.

It seems that the time sync didn't work, even though it was set to "on", until I turned it off and then on again.
