Re: Sprint Touch Information
I just did it last week. Told them someone I know was able to get the mogul replaced with the touch. Which is not true at all. If you really want them to give you it, go to the physical store. When chatting about replacement, make sure you remind them it is technically a downgrade. Just keep at it in a way that won't make the rep mad.
I would recommend it to any Mogul user. Things you are losing by switching to the touch: -Keyboard -Wifi -Infrared / Beaming -Numerous hard keys -Camera Flash -a lot of weight / size I was a big keyboard junkie, from using the moto Q (hence my login name), that's why I got the Mogul originally. PCM keyboard on the touch is good enough that I don't miss the keyboard. I almost never used wifi, however it wasn't till a day later (since I didn't think about it) that I realized I that meant I couldn't use wmwifirouter anymore. Oh well... I kinda miss the infrared... that's how coworkers and I would share apps. They mess with me now, and say, hey, let me beam this to you... and they say, oh that's right, you can't. You lose all the keys on the outside almost...touch as send, end, 4-way, enter, and a two function camera button. The touch also doesnt have softkey dots like the mogul, but it is billed as a touchscreen phone, so you see why. I do miss the camera flash for use as a flashlight, but I'm over it, because this phone is so much lighter, smaller, and less embarrassing to carry around. The biggest improvement is the Ram size. If there is one reason you'll never go back, it is the Ram. Hope that helps!

Another thing to consider is that the Official upgrade has been posted to the HTC site so you'll have Rev A, GPS and WM 6.1.

Re: Sprint Touch Information
thanks for the info, but a major factor for me is the battery life, on my mogul it used to last about 2 days with medium usage. how is the battery life one the touch? as for the keyboard difference i have been using pocketcm and full screen keyboard and find that i can type just fine using them.
I also only use wi fi for wmwifirouter and really like the flash in the camera but i have come to accept it if it gives me more ram and a more stable, slimmer, lighter, and sleek phone. Finally, when you traded your mogul for a touch, how did u do it, in a store, via email, or on the phone with them? Last edited by killerkhatiby009; 07-18-2008 at 11:36 AM. |

Battery life seems better to me. I never went long with the mogul without charging it, lately I have been forgetting to charge my touch, and it seems to last pretty long. Definately go to the store. You get nothing but policy on the phone. Here is exactly what I did. I acted like I knew much less than I do about wm phones. I asked about the touch, and if the guy liked it, and I asked if it was an upgrade to the mogul. They will assuredly correct you and tell you it is technically a downgrade, which except for the Ram and size, it is. If you have the insurance and there is something wrong with your mogul, as in the keys are being flaky, which mine were, say "hey, since it is technically a downgrade, why couldn't I get my mogul replaced by the touch?" They will give you friction, as the insurance policy is to replace any unit with the exact unit. If they still don't want to do it, make up a story about a friend or coworker that had their mogul replaced with a touch. Don't give up. You have a lot of time, as they will take a while to look at your mogul before they go get the replacement. Lucky for me I got the only winmo nut that worked there, and he was a big fan of the touch. If you really want a different phone that costs less than the one you'd be trading it in for, you should be able to get it. You pay good money to sprint for your service, and you already paid for an overpriced mogul already. Also, you aren't there to make friends, so if it takes making them dislike you (not angry! that's bad!) then it isn't a big deal, you're not going to see them again unless that's the only sprint store in town. |

Re: Sprint Touch Information
So battery seems to be good enough? Anyone else can comment on the battery life of the touch? Compared to the current battery on my mogul which in 11 hours goes from 100% to 0% with almost no usage, is the touch better, is it able to last more than half a day with little to no usage?

Re: Sprint Touch Information
I use ActiveSync to connect to my Exhange server (over 300 emails/day), make about 1-1.5 hours of calls, about a hundred text messages/day, and do a little casual web browsing and game time and my Vogue will last all day, with about 40% left after about 12-13 hours...

Re: Sprint Touch Information
Wow, thats pretty heavy usage, with almost half the batter still left, it seems that it should easily last two days with my level of usage (which is about 20 mins of browsing, 2 5 minute calls, and 2 texts each day, with no email sync).
Since the battery life seems to be fine, could you guys comment on the usability, such as free ram, speed (device and internet), soft reset amounts, using the on screen keyboard, and other problems or pluses about the device. Thanks for the help. |

Re: Sprint Touch Information
