Re: Bell Tethering
PDAnet is about 35 dollars but its worth every penny! and no wont get caught using that because it looks like your just sync'd with you Notebook .. not Tethered. They have a Trial before you buy.. id suggest you try it first... Ive been using it since the First PAN Device.

My advice is the same as what others have said - do a test one month, and even then use it in moderation knowing that in the future you *could* receive a bill for your usage. -GT |

Re: Bell Tethering
Take a look at the recently updated thread called "Tethering a Touch" for instructions on the registry changes and steps. I assume those will work with your phone as well.

i highly suggest all bell mobility users beware as bell billing is fubared. i was getting charged approx 3 months ago for tethering @ $15 /mb and i didnt even thether, hell my phone was not even connected to my computer for that month. this led to a series of a few months where my bills were 500% what they were supposed to be. i suggest you go by doan_1 's advice and try it a few days before your billing period and even then still use with caution, and dont forget that you are dealing with a company that hires their senior managers directly from local zoos. and these monkeys have no issues with charging you extra, whether the usage was there or not. it is simply said the monkey-banana principle. |

Re: Bell Tethering
I bought PDAnet 2.0 and installed it on my laptop, then I installed the CAB on my Bell Mobility Touch. I did not special configurations just the basic install. I turned off the WIFI connection on my laptop. Clicked on the PDAnet icon on my taskbar and selected Connect. It worked perfectly. I am VERY neurotic and even though it works I`m wondering if I was suppossed to do any special configurations to hide Bell Mobility tethering. When I look at the options on my Touch, Proxy Mode is checked and Default Ntework is selected, are those the right ones? Upon connection the laptop says initializing connections, username/password verified, and finally connected.
What do you guys think? Is it all setup properly? Thanks for the help |
