You're releasing custom roms and don't understand the concept of Adaptation Kit Updates? Frightening.

People actually sent him money? What's the threshold these days for the FBI's Internet Fraud Division to investigate?

Surely no one was silly enough to actually part with their money before they see the goods!

If people did actually donate money, I hope the holder of the funds didn't actually spend any of it...that would be fraud.

I think it's pretty conclusive that the original target of this project is not attainable - hardware drivers capable of averaging 80-120fps. That being said, all donated money should be returned and all pledges released. If you can't get your money back, post here. If it's a big enough problem, band together and file a lawsuit....and remember to NEVER give your money to someone before you have the goods, particularly on the Internet!

Me and the person working on the drivers are actually very close to getting them working 100%. Nex, I don't see why you say this is never possible.

Re: Working Vogue Video drivers BOUNTY($1646.00 so far!) - Pledge donations here!!!

Considering that the bottom end of the target was 80fps, and you're at 54fps with something that you acknowledge has issues, how do you plan on claiming the prize? Honestly, your 1fps statement has me questioning what your 54fps test even was.

Furthermore, if you truly believe your 1fps statement to be accurate and 80fps not required, then Nex gets the prize because he is the first to demonstrate a stable AGPS rom with markedly better performance (not just better, it's even useable). He's even using the reference standard - you can't question the quality of his solution.

Its not never possible - its just that I know what it takes to make it possible. I saw first hand the work nushrike had to go through to make the drivers work. To put it in short, you need to implement two missing exports in our DDI, which would allow for fast blitting, then you need to write a bunch of wrappers to get the d3dm to work (somewhat).

Now, these two missing exports are pretty much impossible to write properly without information about the chip, information which only Qualcomm has (and well, maybe google).

I highly doubt that you would be able to do that, given both the availability of the information, and your background with the hardware internals. I'm even doubtful of whether you even know how to disassemble a driver (which would be absolutely necessary to do this...). Of course, if you have run a legitimate benchmark, and can show me things such as your DDB blit scores, I'm open to changing my mind.

Question Re: Working Vogue Video drivers BOUNTY($1646.00 so far!) - Pledge donations here!!!

no2chem,

ALAS, I finnally see a post that properly points out the true challenges with implementing drives for Video acceleration in our devices(as per my reserch). I have been researching this for a quite some time and been following the success stories with the Kiser drivers.
Just one question for you though, if some one was able to port over and properly implement the missing DDI interfaces would it not be possible to use the same wrappers used for the Kaiser then... considering that the porting of the missing intefaces would most likely come from the same source as it did for the Kaiser?... or do you think that the diffrence in chipsets would require entirely new wrapes for our devices?

Thanks!

Re: Working Vogue Video drivers BOUNTY($1646.00 so far!) - Pledge donations here!!!

Wait! Don't close this thread yet... I got them to work flawlessly! Here are the steps I used to improve the quality of video playback 120% with these new drivers...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

1. Burn them to dvd
2. Taped the dvd over the peep hole on my front door

That's it! Now I don't have the sun shining a rainbow spot my TV when watching a movie! I've had more evenings off and that was buggin me. Other than that, there is alot more involved. I'm happy some of the vet's have chimed in and hopefully have killed this "speculation" thread... lol

no, the wrappers are device-dependent. they rely on specific implementations and addresses of certain other drivers, such as wce_pmem.
