Re: Plans with the touch
MMS is MMS, not data, so it doesn't count against the data.
There are no plans in the near future to add this to the $29.99 data plan list. |

Re: Plans with the touch
You have to switch to the nationwide plan for data. They have three options for data depending on use but dont go with the pay as you go or you will find yourself double checking if you are logged out all the time. I am waiting for a bluetooth doggle for free wifi....

Re: Plans with the touch
I heard about something for wifi. Is there something that actually works?
Also, can someone confirm Martin's statement, please? |

Re: Plans with the touch
There is no WiFi on the Touch, period.
Also, I work for Verizon and own the 6900. I have asked numerous times (up to, and including the District Manager) about the cheaper data plan. It's not happening any time in the near future. Do you not think that, even with my discounting, I would also be interested in getting the cheaper data plan if it were going to be available? As for MMS, just look at your bill online. You will see the MMS charged as MMS. You could also wait until the beginning of your next billing cycle, don't use data but send an MMS. You can then check your current data usage online. |

Re: Plans with the touch
I know that there isn't WiFi hardware on the device itself, but I've seen SD card wifi, and I think the other guy was talking about a BT wifi. Don't know if they actually work, but if they did it would be an alternative.
I don't have this phone yet, so I can't look at my bill. I don't have a smart phone, and in the past, the mms was billed as mms, and as data. Supposedly they have fixed it to where it only bills as mms, but some people have said that it's still being counted against their data as well. I was just wanting to know if this was totally fixed now. It sounds like it is with how passionate you got about it. About the 29.99 plan. I was just asking if anyone heard about it ever going to it. Everyone knows that even district manager's in verizon don't always know the correct information, and especially not until something actually happens, so I personally wouldn't trust that guys opinion. I just wanted to know if anyone had heard rumors or speculations about it ever going to this plan, whether it's starting next week, or in 2 years. |

Re: Plans with the touch
somewhere in between 2 weeks and 2 years. I would guess about 6 months after VZW releases the next in the XV series. That seems to be the pattern. Given Verizon's history of being late to market with new phones, probably closer to 2 years.
There is a WiFi microSD, but when you use it you cannot use you SD slot for storage, so there are more disadvantages than advantages. BT WiFi is interenesting, but definitely limits the range and usability. |
