I did not hi jack any thread. I post and my post was challenge. They hi jack the thread. and here are the A-GPS options u have with descripstions to enlighten ur knowledge.
types of A-GPS
Standalone - Your handset has no connection to the network, and uses only the GPS satellite signals it can currently receive to try and establish a location.
MS Based - Your handset is connected to the network, and uses the GPS signals + a location signal from the network.
MS Assisted - Your handset is connected to the network, uses GPS signals + a location signal then relays its 'fix' to the server, which then uses the signal strength from your phone to the network towers to further plot your position. You can still maintain voice communication in this scenario, but not 'Internet/Network service' ie Web Browser, IM, streaming TV etc..
MS Assisted/Hybrid - Same as above, but network functionality remains. Normally only in areas with exceptional coverage.

Our Touches...and Moguls have A-GPS MSM 7500 Chip. They will work in Standalone and Assisted.

Oh, and to enlighten you. Any A-GPS device (especially our Touch) can work in any of the four above situations at any given time. The A-GPS Chip is limited only by the type of device, PDA...PPC...Smartphone, or standard phone. But the A-GPS chip within the phones are capable of all four modes. That is what A-GPS does by its own nature. Maybe you need to read up a little bit more.

YOU read, read, read and then read it again and then when youre done, read it once more. The A-GPS chip is capable of ALL four modes. Now whether or not the carrier locks it down or not is a WHOLE other thread and topic. You can laugh all you want but youre the one that sounds stupid showing us topics that show how youre wrong. I think you either cannot read right or you are just really special and cannot grasp all these articles fully. A-GPS HAS FOUR MODES. Whether or not it has been rendered incapable of any of them is fully up to the carrier, but either way the fact remains that A-GPS IS CAPAPBLE OF ALL THESE MODES. So, My Special friend. Laugh all you want cause on the other side of hundreds of computers, everyone is laughing at you.

I have to disagree. I am running iGo right now, minimizing and connecting to the internet via PIE at the same time. When I switch back and forth between the two programs I am still connected to my satellites.
