Re: XV6900 GPS Rev A upgrade help!

Drilisdee - I think you scored the right thread for me... thanks! I'm a bit confused (but getting closer to enlightenment... I think?). Unfortunately it has opened a ton more questions:

1) The thread is on topic (regarding the roaming and my screwing up with the Sprint customization at the radio upgrade on a Verizon phone). But I'm a bit worried since it's on the XV6800 thread... I'm assuming there is no difference regarding this radiorefurbish process?

2) Also I'm getting from reading the entire thread that there are no problems with me set on roaming? The only issue is that my phone thinks it's a Sprint phone on a Verizon network. But nothing else... everything else works fine otherwise.

3) Piecing things together, if I want to correct the problem (Verizon phone, flashed with Sprint GPS radio, with Verizon Rom, and the only problem is the roaming thing) I don't have to reflash anything, just 1) copy the radiorefurbish.exe file into Windows 2) run '/Refurbish'

The problem when trying to execute this. There is already a RadioRefurbish.exe file dated 6.6.08 @ 12.5KB in my windows directory that I cannot overwrite with the 5.14.08 @12.5KB from the link that is posted in the thread. I don't know if there's a way around this. I cannot delete, rename, copy over etc.

4) Is there any way I can start over if #3 doesn't work? If so, how do I do this? Do I start by run the 2.31 unlocker? I've already mentioned earlier that I cannot start by rerunning the 3.37.15 radio upgrade. Do I need to downgrade first? Again, I am nervous bricking my phone if I start over. I want to make sure I do the right thing.

Sorry if this is confusing or if I'm not clear. And thanks again for your help!

Nope no difference and try running the .exe you have on your phone then. You might need resco explorer.

Re: XV6900 GPS Rev A upgrade help!

Try resetting your data username/password. Search the forums for verizon data username. There is a little account name and password you can plug into settings / connections / manage existing connections.

I haven't done #2 since I reflashed on the cooked rom, so I tried it. Didn't seem to do anything with respect to the first item nor the roaming thing.

I have a hard time figuring out if this stuff if rom upgrade related or if it's phone service related since I reset a bunch of things upgrading the rom. I still haven't had a chance to call Verizon... I'll do this here shortly.

Thanks for your input!
You need to update your prl with a Verizon one, when you ran the Sprint Customization you updated your pri which in turn also updated your prl. Just download the latest verizon prl and you should be fine.

An those of you that are having data problems you can try this option. Open the phone pad and dial ##data# --> edit --> menu --> restore. This option resets your data setting back to default.

Re: XV6900 GPS Rev A upgrade help!

ydoggy's problems are just about exactly mine too. can't wait to try drellisdee's suggestion on the roaming indicator! I just wish fixing my data problem was as easy as ydoggy's. Since letting Sprint customizations run i've reflashed ROM (Sprint, then Alltel, then PPCKitchen) and each time same issue with no data.

Question Re: XV6900 GPS Rev A upgrade help!

Well im having the same problem as ydoggy, but i have ran radio refurbish, a couple of times around now, re-ran sprint and alltel roms without any customazations (not sure i ever let it run the first time, maybee for a sec before i got the button pushed the first time), and i still have the exact roaming problem he was experiencing. I dont have data working either, but i havent really tried to fix that. Radio refurbish sets my MSID back to the original value as well. Setting that and the NAM settings (all copied from a working 6700) back leads me back to working phone but roaming. Any ideas???? I've also noticed that my PRI version is at 1.33_003 and never has changed, even after upgrading roms, etc... I'm guessing that this may be my problem, but i cant figure out how to update the PRI to anything else. I cnat overwrite radiorefurbish.exe in the windows directory, so how do you upgrae/downgrade/change your PRI version???
