time change?

i was in the west coast and noticed that my time didn't change according to my location like my other sprint phones do. instead, i'd have to manual change my location settings to reflect my location change. i also notice this during daylight savings time. my time doesn't change at all. does anyone know if something is wrong with Touch or do they not have any built-in program to handle this?

Re: time change?

There was a daylight savings patch you could download from microsoft that should help.

thanks but its not only about daylight savings time. i notice this problem when i was in the west coast twice this yr. example, it is 12pm in central usa (where i am from) but when i am in the west coast, time doesn't change to 10am but instead stays at 12pm. i did a few soft resets and nothing changed so i left it alone. any ideas?

Re: time change?

I don't think this phone picks up your location automatically, but you can go to setting->clock & alarms and click visiting then set your temporary time zone.

Re: time change?

I believe this is so data on the phone doesn't get corrupted with inconsistent time stamps. Unlike the other refined/closed o/s phones, windows gets touchy if time isn't predictable.

for example all the ppl that commute between timezones daily.

Edit* they really should use a gmt +/- in all their timestamps, but microsoft lives on redmond time.

Re: time change?

It's been a few months since I traveled to a different timezone, but I'm almost positive mine switched automatically.

Mine doesn't change. I've looked into this and I haven't found a solution. I agree, it's really annoying. You have to manually do it from the time page. (visiting time zone)
Another gripe... There is no option to have all of your calendar events stay at the time you entered them if you change the time zone. ie. if you change the time zone, your appointment times WILL change the corresponding amount. That is extremely annoying!! I enter appointments and events in local time wherever I go. Who the hell wants to figure out the time difference when you are entering an event for 3 weeks from now 3 time zones away?!!!

Re: time change?

Pretty annoying! I had this problem when I went to Boston a few months ago... all timestamps get messed up bigtime!

What about just changing the time manually, so it still thinks you are in the same timezone, and doesn't screw up all your appointments? That's sure as hell what I'm doing next time...
