any ideas?
Starting iGO8 with astrolauncher and/or Nav N Go link is hit or miss and does not seem to be ROM dependent. If the shortcuts do not work, usually a soft reset will make them work the next time but is inconsistent.

There is a NEW VERSION of iGO 8: Nav N Go iGO 8 v 8.0.0.41506 (June 3 release) which appears to fix the startup issue. You do not have to disable to HTC Home plugin for it to work. I've been testing it over the last few days and iGO will start consistently with the new Sprint ROM. Some of the older skins will not work with it but this new version seems to have the fix.

Hope this helps.

The easiest way is to use Astrolauncher shortcut posted earlier in this thread to prime your internal GPS receiver, then iGO8 will automatically start. Once the internal GPS receiver is primed, iGO8 should automatically see it. Make sure that in your iGO8 GPS settings, there is a check mark for "Enable GPS" and Port is 4 and Baud Rate is 38400 or less.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

The new June version .4whatever allows me to run iGo without rebooting. If you're using the new version don't forget to update your POIs, there are new ones out. Theres also new maps for the US, although they're still 2007 maps.

Re: Anyone using iGO 8

Yeah the astorlauncher for Igo seems to work for me now as well with the new version. Currently downig the newer maps. Hopefully they are a little better. What do you mean by updating the POI's though? third party?

[EDIT]

Ok I got the new maps. And running the new version. My problem now is that my internal GPS can't find any satelites at night nor does the GPS port and baud rate i my sys.text file seem to affect iGO8 anymore. It is set to com 4 38400 baud rate, but every time I start it up the program is under com 5 57600.

Anyone else with these problems?

3d landmarks enabled
3d, 2d terrain enabled
auto time mode enabled

gps set to com4, 4800 baud

add option to enable max memory, and reserve memory. Need to uncomment fields and set preferred value.
Cache set to 2048
Removed annoying audio message if gps lost
Removed annoying drive safe announcement
Added estimate calculation when gps signal temporarily lost (tunnels etc)
Option to enable Turns on Smart 2D enabled by default
Ability to change compass type currently set to 3
and more fetures as well to many to explain
Downloaded and replaced this sys.txt file with the existing one...dialing poi still not available on my Tilt (Kaiser)

Are you runnung the April 15 2008 version? I can now dial on my touch.

Darnit,

So i fixed the initial gps lock function at night, I changed the agps settings to 4 i.o. setting 2.
This is suppose to be a hybrid mode which enabled AGPS. Got a lock last night cold in less than 10 sec.

Still have the problem however having to manually change the gps to com 4 baud rate 38400.
I have it set up that way in my sys.txt but it always reverts back to com 5 57600

A new problem which I thought was resolved with the new version. iGO8 didn't start up this morning.
I had to soft reset. Hopefully this was an anomaly.
