Sure thing. Sorry I never replied. I was out with my girlfriend and didn't have time and then just kinda forgot.

This is exactly what I did. (As a disclaimer to others out there, THESE ARE NOT INSTRUCTIONS! DO NOT FOLLOW!)
  1. I used the .40 unlocker to unlock my phone.
  2. I flashed JD's OEM 6.1 Sprint ROM.
  3. Later I used the 2.31 unlocker but looking back, I do not thing it took.
  4. I began to flash to the Alltel ROM but it stopped at about 8% of the first part of the upgrade and it became unresponsive and thanks to you, I learned this was called "Download mode"
End of story. Now I have a brand new one, again, and am hesitating on whether or not I should upgrade as this is now my 3rd phone.

Re: I have a brick...

glad to hear you got your phone back...
I flashed to the tutzb radio but didn't like what was happening so I flashed back to the 3.37 radio and get better results and less battery draw. W the titanic radio it stopped connecting to the network and I couldn't turn the radio on or off so that got me uneasy and I put the vogue radio back in. im not sure if its really worth risking it again

Really? I've been hearing nothing but good things about the Titan radio...

Re: I have a brick...

I think I am still on the 2.31 unlocker. I was never able to downgrade to the 0.40 unlocker for whatever reason (at least that's what the bootloader show 2.31)

I crossed my finger and took the plung and upload the titan radio any everything when fine... So now I am on the 2.31 locker, Titan Radio + AllTel ROM... everything is working and I think that Rev A also perform better on this radio as well.

I'm working on it as we speak, crossing my fingers the whole time. I know what I need to do and will be reading my own tutorial over again as I do this as well. If all goes well, I will update this post in about an hour or so.

FIRST EDIT:: I successfully flashed the Alltel ROM and with 4 bars out on my deck, mobilespeedtest.com logged 599.20kbps download.

2ND EDIT:: Titan Radio successfully flashed and device booted into Windows. With Alltel ROM still on device and on my deck with 3 bars, mobilespeedtest.com logged 699.10kbps download.

3RD EDIT:: Flashed JD's hybrid Rev A/GPS ROM and have notices somewhat slower internet speeds. GPS took over 10 minutes to acquire a lock from a cold start using google maps. So far it has 4 satellites and location is pretty dead on(inside my apartment)
UPDATE:: It is now bouncing between 6-7 satellites on warm start.

Re: I have a brick...

Are you saying that you can't jump from the 0.40 unlocker, to the 2.31 unlocker? I did that as of two days ago, and it worked like a charm... heck, I never knew there was even an intermediate version.

sorry if that's not what you meant.

It may be very possible to flash from the 0.40 SPL to the 2.31 SPL. I personally had a problem doing this so I recommended folks not do it.

Just updated my post above. I don't really like JD's hybrid ROM from what I have seen thus far. Rev A and GPS works but the ROM is way to stripped down and I can't stand not having the home plugin.
