Telecom NZ - Upgrade Issues (and fixs)

Hi,

my friend has Okta Touch, not bother about HDR user / pwd as I'm using it in other country.

Do I need to unlock my Okta Touch with IMcoke provided "Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31" before upgrading to Sprint stock "RUU_PPST_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_3.03.651.4_2_Radio_3.42 .30_AM_NV_2.04_Ship"
please clear on this if we are going to brick it...

yes u will need to use th cokemans vogue unlocker 2.31, and u had better save your hdr user/pass .... click start/programs/file explorer/ change dir to windows scroll down find and open epst use this code 658824 click securtiy write it down exit.


i dunno why u want to flash to sprint there are plenty of other roms around here that are better than that

if you go throu with the sprint dont let the customizations run (poke stylus into hole beside charger hole) also because you are upgrading your radio version your phone (calls in, out , internet , texts) will not work after flashing is done , when u try to use phone u will here this message ... if you have just connected your phone to the telecom network blah blah blah .... you will need to ring telecom and ask to do an esn swap takes 5 min and youll be away laughing

Ok, what it does (Oktatouchupgrade.zip)? Is it mandatory before flashing any rom ? (I like Dette 2.4 looking very nice as per Youtube clip)

yes its manadatory. and you can let the customizations run becuase its a offical telecom upgrade,, then flash dettes rom .

You have to flash with a "stock" rom before flashing a custom rom, ( sorry i did not make that clear yesterday )

stock rom = RUU_Vogue_TNZ_WWE_3.00.781.3_Radio_3.41.00_Ship which is what u get when you downloadand extract oktatouchupgrade.zip

I am a newbie and have downloaded the new Telecom ROM. Like Freebieman, I would appreciate a 'dummies' guide (set by step instructions), to upgrading my current OKTA to WM 6.1. Just too many instructions out there and my poor little brain is confused. Dont want to brick my phone by doing the wrong thing.

im not completely 100% on this but you will prolly be able to plug phone into computer via active sync and double click the file RUU_Vogue_TNZ_WWE_3.00.781.3_Radio_3.41.00_Ship

and follow instructions from there
