I didnt question your geekiness or your technical knowledge on WM phones. I was directing that toward your frustration in using the hacked rom and making the statement: "i hate to give up winmo, but i need my shiot to work man, not sometimes, all the time" My point was that if you need it to work all the time, you shouldnt be loading custom roms on there.. Frankly with a few quirks, WinMo has always been 100% reliable for me. Of course I was never a mogul owner (or a 6700) either and I guess it was a little hairy in the beginning, so I will conceed you that.

Re: GPS dead after 1 day use?

Guys GPS generally was NOT designed for "inside" use. Doing a COLD GPS start inside is hard for any GPS device. Depending on time of day it will vary.

Try using it in your car and use GPSViewer or Google Maps for a Cold GPS start.

I doubt it's the DLL's and just the variability in GPS and trying to use it inside reliably on a COLD start is asking too much. Once locked you can often continue to use it inside.

I updated Friday night with Alltel ROM and it's running great (IN THE CAR) where I need it.

I think Window Mobile is great. Tethered last night after the new ROM, started USBModem and connected laptop with no changes. 1250k/400k (not possible on an iPhone)
Voice command works fantasic over bluetooth headset (except low confirmation which is no biggy). (Not possible on an iPhone).
IGuidance works great (not possible on and iPhone).
My wife was tehthered to work over VPN and we drove 2.5 hours. Never dropped the connection the WHOLE way. She looses connection at home over wifi sometimes !!!

I love this thing. Always room for improvement but for what it is, it's great.

Re: GPS dead after 1 day use?

lets minimize the bickering and stay on topic. well I knowknow this is not perfect , but at least this will quite down all the people that said that the touch did not have gps. the real rom will be here in a month I am sure. for the mean time lets not kill each other . and remember, fighting on the internet is like the special olimpics, even if you win you are still retarted.

really I have to redo that generic gps rom because of a bluetooth issue that nobody noticed with voice command I'm looking for updated drivers to use for gps to

I'll get right on that, sir.

Anything else you would like while I'm at it? A pizza maybe?
