If you wait a little while, the Lat and Long settings will be picked up. Try to do this outside.

Really though, you aren't being fair in the GPS case. I mean we have a hacked ROM from a different carrier working with dll's from a different phone. And some people are running 6.1 on top of all that.

Its to be expected that it may not work 100% reliably. If you need your shiot to work, you shouldnt be messin wit it so much. You could get that curve, pay more for BB data, and not be able to do nearly as much. Just my opinion./

Re: GPS dead after 1 day use?

A touch runs pretty good and reliably with the stock official ROM and only 2-3 progs on it....

i bet if we went and messed with bb's the same way we do with our winmo phones we'd run into problems all the same.... but what can we do-we all want the cutting edge, that's why we're here

Re: GPS dead after 1 day use?

hey guys,

I used the chinese rom from
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25127

The gps is enabled and I believe this is an official release from this chinese company. That means the gps wasn't a hack or anything to enable gps like we have with the roms we have now. May be what is causing the problem can be solved by using something from this chinese rom...

Re: GPS dead after 1 day use?

Well, GPS is buggy. After not being able to pick up any sats last night, it picked up a few this morning. Now when I used it to drive to work for testing puposes, it lost connection to the sats about 20 times. Its like a 15 minute drive too. LOL.

Re: GPS dead after 1 day use?

I had trouble with the GPS on my Mogul with Alltel ROM as well. I'd use it once, then after closing TomTom it wouldn't work again until I did a soft reset. I identified another driver that when replaced, seemed to fix this problem.
I just got a Touch today so I'll see if replacing the driver on the Touch fixes anything.

You're giving up on an OS just because a Hacked Rom doesn't work 100% of the time?

sheesh, no wonder sprint is taking forever on their rom, everyone expects nothing less than perfection from anything they run.
