Hey unsungboxer... I have some programming experience(although not much) but I know in C++ and Visual Basic one equal sign means "to set equal to", or in other words it is used to set a value to a variable. However, 2 equal signs "==" means "is equal to", or in other words it is just saying that the password is set at whatever comes after the double equal signs, but at first, where there is one, it is assigning that password to the password's variable.. I may be wrong, but this is what i think.. I am sure the people at xda already know this! Hope this helps a little

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

actually, you use the double equal signs in coding for different kinds of loops and if statements. a '==' is used compare two things

I have found that the screen is way out of alignment and can't seem to get it aligned. Is that what everyone is getting?

I have not had any issues with alignment, infact it was spot on in the initial load.

Did you try the instructions on DZO/Martin's page?
http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/

"You can also calibrate the touchscreen by holding the camera button down (so that the keyboard is showing) while tapping the top right and then the bottom left of the screen. Do this while running the pointer location app in dev tools to check that it works"

Doesn't appear to be any, I have been checking the thread @ XDA and it seems to have gone cold for time being. Although Martin has been trending an update about every 2 weeks, so I wouldn't worry yet.

It sure would be nice if someone would create a wiki to track this progress, and hopefully bring in more people to work on the project.

I don't think there can be any more progress until the full sdk for Android is released. Once that happens I think you will see some rapid progress and more people puting some effort into it.

I haven't been able to find any projected dates for this release so it will be just wait and see.

Check out this site for news info and what not about android http://phandroid.com/ and this site to see some of the cool apps that will be avalible for Android http://slideme.org/

I can't wait it will give new life to my tied vouge which I have tweaked out as far as I can with WM. Time for something new to play with LOL

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!

Pretty cool... still needs lots of work, but so far, as a proof of concept it is very nice to play with.
- GUI finger friendly
- Phone works
- Browser works (the best feature imho)
- Don't know how to setup time
- QWERTY keyboard is not aligned
- Got errors here and there while checking around settings, or video would go crazy

Try opening your default.txt, move the "#" sign up one line so it reads:

#set initrd initrd.gz
set initrd initrd-android

Someone please correct me if my explanation is wrong:
I think what this is doing is modifing the boot loader to look for the zimage that DZO has customized for the vogue as opposed to the origional initrd.gz. Surprisingly I figured this out on my own when I first downloaded DZO's android files. No one else has mentioned having to make this change AFIK.

Hope it helps! Cheers!
