Re: Best push e-mail client for Vogue?
I have not battery issues with FlexMail at all. I am using FM 4.0 which uses IMAP idle to check email. I get instant notifications when I get email, even before Outlook. It uses very little power because it does not send or receive data unless it needs to. If you are still using POP3 for some reason... you should really consider changing to the MUCH better IMAP protocol.
Of course, you can tell FM to check your email every 15 minutes if that makes you happy and it does support POP3. I really like the fact that it acts like a real email client. So for instance if I respond to a message the responded to flag is set on the message so in outlook on the desktop I can see I have already responded. When it works. When I tried it a month or two ago, it seems like their servers were up and down every day... |

MobiPush is BY FAR the best push solution out there, and they will make a killing when they get the product stable and go commercial... For those that don't know, you go to their web site, enter your email account info (preferably IMAP as it is server based and keeps changes between client devices), and MobiPush uses AS/Exchange-like technology to push email to your Inbox. The really neat thing, is that I had several different IMAP accounts set up, and I could reply to any of the emails in my Inbox, it would come from the corresponding account. Now if they only had contacts/calender sync technology... |

As far as PO, no it hasnt killed an account with years worth of messages, but on my 700WX, the database got corrupt somehow, and it decided to send my private emails to my boss because I had sent him an SMS earlier in the day. Hahaha looking back on that that was funny..Locked his phone completely up... I think that was the final straw that led me to look for other solutions. Quote:

I think that was the case about 3 months ago. But as of now, they are completely stable. They have improved a lot.

Mobipush does drain the battery since it uses an activesync connection. Its no worse than the other solutions out there, though. And yes, it has HTML. Last edited by Peteman100; 04-03-2008 at 11:06 PM. |
