Re: Pagepool set to zero
hmm, i'm this is interesting. In all of my testing, higher page pools generally had better performance (benchmarking tests), i never really noticed a difference in using the phone though. This may be because i did the testing back to back, so some roms were installed for a couple of hours while i did the testing.
The thread with the testing is below: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=187329 Can you guys post your results using the 0 and 6mb page pools? I'm curious what the results will be. -s

My setup is a bit different from everyone's though. I'm disabling the touchflo and HTC home plugins.. My today screen has spb mobile shell (with weather data from spb taveller), sbsh phoneweaver, octro, sbsh pocketbreeze Not using the touch keypad - i'm using touchpal v3. (before v2..) also running in the background is ftouchsl, and s2u2 HTC task manager is disabled - i've had problems with this before... Using ftouchsl to close apps if I hold down on the top right corner for half a second.. Someone said that they were getting crashes when sms's alot - I don't sms that much (maybe 5-10 messages/day max), so maybe that's why I'm not seeing freezes? another person was saying that they had lockups while using the new IE - I don't use IE, only opera... -mark Last edited by diomark; 04-24-2008 at 03:01 PM. |

Re: Pagepool set to zero
lol
There's nothing wrong with setting your pagepool to 0, or 10, or 30. You won't notice anything different about performance unless you are running more than just 1 or 2 small apps (why? because pagepool is used when switching between apps). Performance numbers won't mean a thing unless you also list the phones built in software and what you did on your phone to measure performance. Obviously, any testing would have to occur immediately following a hard reset to be meaningful. As a general rule, more is better.
