Pagepool set to zero

Hi,

Is there a reason for the pagepool at all on our devices?

I've been running WM6.1 with a pagepool set to 0 for the last two weeks - and I've had zero issues outside of the sd corrupted issue. My device feels really speedy..

Is anyone else running with pagepool of 0? Any pros/cons?

dont set it too high or else itll slow down and i believe too low will slow it down too because it constantly is swapping the temp data instead of saving it into that pagepool RAM. so i dont think 0 is an optimal setting, nor is say 32mb

I would love to see some benchmarks on this - mine feels very fast set to zero. perhaps the ram on the touch is fast enough that the pagepool is not needed?

I know my phone felt faster with a pagepool set at 24 and 32, but then I also had random lock ups. Now I have it set to 12 and it feels a little slower and I get that waiting icon more, but no lockups. I guess its a trade off. Maybe I'll try 18 next.

I would tend to agree with this.
It makes sense that they would set it at 12 if there was a reason to.
(ie. It's NOT logical that they would randomly set it at 12!)

:)

Nothing about the Vogue makes much sense in the first place... what's with all the random lockups, SD corruption, and just slower-than-hell performance?

No surprise to me if they just set it at 12, "just cuz."

cooked a rom last night, and set pagepool to 6, seemed faster, but no benchmarks to add as proof
