Re: Verizon XV6900(Vogue) Release Date

I know there will be differences between the 6900 and Sprints Touch...especially the price ($100 more than Sprint I've read).

Has anbody seen official specs on the XV6900? I'm interested in memory, processor speed, WIFI, etc?

I'm just curious if there will be any REAL advantage (primarily storage memory and WIFI) to this phone over my upgraded Apache with WM6.

I don't think adding GPS is enough to make me switch over and lose my keyboard.

UPDATE
I just re-read one of the early links to a listing of specs (from VZW's press kit). I didn't see anything about WIFI or the GPS ability I've read about since then. Perhaps that was incomplete info???

Re: Verizon XV6900(Vogue) Release Date

If VZW doesn't have a good reason for charging an extra $100 for the Touch, people are going to start eyeing sprint like a shark eyeing chum... $99 everything included plan + same phone in a cooler color for $100 less...

Re: Verizon XV6900(Vogue) Release Date

the 6900 does not have wifi. only one site is reporting that the gps will be enabled, brighthand.com - http://www.brighthand.com/default.asp?newsID=13918. Verizon hasn't said the gps will be enabled, so I doubt that it will. Worse yet, users of Bell's white touch are reporting design flaws - cracking in the housing - http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1339304. Since that's not the cdma model, I don't know whether that'll be an issue with Verizon's touch.

Bell Mobility's Limited Edition White Touch by HTC is CDMA.

Re: Verizon XV6900(Vogue) Release Date

Huh...bummer....no WIFI, no keyboard, no significant on-board memory increase, junky design of the Fisher-Price covering....deal breaker for me.

I'll take my $399 and go get a couple of used 6700 and get busy in the kitchen!

Re: Verizon XV6900(Vogue) Release Date

the only difference between the vzw, sprint and alltel touches is the casing. all have the same hardware inside, and save some carrier customizations (like sprint tv) the software is nearly identical as well.

vzw is charging $350 after mir, yes, but those signing up for the unlimited data plan (so most everybody) will get a $100 instant rebate as well bringing it down to $250 after the $50 mir.
