Verizon XV6900(Vogue) Release Date
 

After asking everyone and their 3rd cousin twice removed about the release date for the HTC Touch (XV6900 in Verizon Lingo), I am starting to get a consistent Mid-April response. Two people particularly that had good info on the XV6800 release have told me Mid-April now.

Anyone else got any recent info?

The HTC rep was in our store the other day and said April as well... I'll know when we get them in the warehouse which is usually a week or two before they start selling online and about a three weeks before we start selling them in the stores...

Verizon Touch will be released in the next 3-4 weeks to general public, and available to business accounts etc... earlier.

At last the wait is over.

Agreed, have not seen anything yet that leads me to believe it will come with GPS (non-911) enabled. I am holding out hope for the initial rumors of GPS and thinner profile. Closer to launch I am not seeing much about the thinner profile nor the GPS enabled.

It does have an updated "8GB" enabled listing on the tech sheet where the other Vogues had "4GB" despite the fact we knew they could run 8.

Adama Brown of Bright Hand is reporting the April Launch of the Touch: Verizon's will be GPS enabled and includes support for the carrier's VZ Navigator premium mapping service. It's unclear whether the GPS will be locked to this application, or if it will be usable with other mapping programs and services

"This announcement makes Verizon the third US carrier to offer a version of the Touch, and the first to sell the device with its internal GPS receiver enabled. Sprint and Alltel both also offer the Touch in a grey version"

I really hope it has GPS and RevA so we can steal it for the Sprint version, but I really doubt it.
As far as the Brighthand article, he says it has GPS, but don't you think the Verizon press release would say something if it was really enabled?
Even if they lock it to their software, it's still a huge feature to exclude when you're willing to boast about the "Built-in speakerphone".

I know that now it is official from Verizon about the XV6900 but does anyone know a dat in April or when they are going to start selling the unit?

I have a 6700 and am sick of it...can't wait to get the Touch...

Telus here in canada states the vogue goes up to 8gb.
