Sorry for the sarcasm. I wish I knew a way to fix your problem other than taking apart the phone which could be fatal if not done correctly.

Most RadioShacks can get that phone sent in and cleaned up for you. Then get the silicone case.

DO NOT let them try to clean it in the store!! And labor is $30 or $59. Depends if we classify it as minor repair or not.

No no no, just grab a can of compressed air and have at it. That is all it takes to clean it out. Aim at the cracks between the screen and housing, in the speaker, earpiece, etc...

User beware...Canned air will often also spray water vapor. Not good for phones I hear.

do you guys put the phone in your pocket? my screen is in perfect condition and i've had the phone for a few months.

phone in pocket = bad

i always keep the phone inside the case when im not home.

are you sure its actual dust as some versions of the touch have a known issue with this screen smudge/dust problem

I had a little accident with a hot cigarette lighter and the phone in my pocket, now I have a small spot on my lcd that's a little darker than the rest of my screen but it doesnt bother me much. I think the dust got in my screen when it was in my pocket as well but it only happened once. I stopped using my case after a couple months; I've had to replace the screen protector once because it got scratched but other than that I've not had a problem. This seems to be a pocket-friendly phone.

I have the dust problem too. I suspect its getting in at the sd card slot
