how the h*** do you delete an existing Imap email account?

so i have an old Imap email that i no longer use anymore on my touch.. and i decided to go delete it.. but i then realized that everytime i try to delete it from the menu, it does nothing.. then when i go into options to try and go about it another way.. the email doesnt even pop up in the lists.. is just shows text messages, yahoo, and outlook. does anyone else have this problem or am i doing something wrong?

from the mail program:

menu>tools>options>tap and hold the account to bring up the delete option.

i tried that, after i hit options and it shows me everything EXCEPT the Imap accounts, only yahoo, text messages, outlook, an then it has new account so you can only set up a new one..

no it wont show the email account.. are you able to see your Imap accounts? i made another one to see if i can delete that one and the same thing happened.. now i have 2 emails i dont want, lol

is there a way i can delete them with the registry editor? i looked for a while but didnt see anything

go to your mail and hit the menu button. Then go to tools\options. Then click and hold down on the account and delete will pop up. hope that helps

yahoo should be an imap account

ok im starting to think im possibly the only person with this issue.. maybe its a glitch with my phone.. trust me i am pretty smart generally when it comes to most apps with phones and computers.. and if it would have been something as simple as goin to options or hitting the menu button an whatnot i would have managed to delete the email on the first try.. but im telling you that the IMAP email account doesnt show up at all when i go into options... and when i try to delete it from the menu (when you first click the mail icon) an then select delete.. it does nothing at all, ive even cleared the emails from it and tried.. i def appreciate the effort to help though everyone.. but is there any registry edits i can prolly do to get rid of em?

if it wouldnt be too much trouble.. try making a IMAP email account then try to delete it.. my yahoo pops up fine and i can delete it because i already did to see if this problem was for all accounts.. but its only for the IMAP emails that arent yahoo based
