Angry Ok - fed up with the flash non/support

Can somebody give me some solid, accurate advice on how to get the adobe flash working with Opera mobile 8.65 reliably? I've read the other posts on the subject ad-nauseum. Have not been able to get a consistent, functional experience after weeks of working on this. Has anybody?

Here's my experience:
I started with the TCPMP and the FlashVideoBundle.cab. It did not work at all in Opera. Only in PIE. And then it was only a hack that would open flash video links in an external player. Fine, I don't get embedded video, whatever. Videos played very well in TCPMP. But PIE is such a pile of crap that most webpages don't even render properly enough to navigate, and you have no hope of arriving at a non-mobile version of your favorite sites. such as youtube. So it's basically non-functional IMO.

So I'm looking for Flash Lite 3. It's not available as a plugin yet, so that's going to be worthless. So I download Flash Lite 2.1. Install. Nothing happens. There is no change in PIE or Opera at all. I uninstall everything and reinstall just Opera and Flash Lite 2.1. The flash works just enough to crash the phone and only in PIE, nothing in Opera.

I download Flash 7 for PPC, of course there's no version 9 for PPC or even 8, so most new websites have issues rendering and will usually crash if I browse them enough. YouTube renders ok in Opera now, but the embedded player has a terrible buffering problem and simply won't play without stopping every 2 seconds. And the fullscreen button on youtube clips doesn't do anything. And the FlashVideoBundle.cab fix for PIE doesn't work anymore with Flash 7 PPC installed.

This is just so incredibly frustrating. I have EVDO and one of the best mobile browsers made (OperaMobile) that is supposedly designed to support flash, but there simply isn't a completely functional experience anywhere. Practically everybody uses flash now... I can't even play music previews on amazon, let alone listen to my XM subscription online, or watch videos on google or youtube, or even news websites or band websites or any gdam thing I seem to want to do. Please help.

Love, Anticowboyism

Install Flash 7 1st, soft reset & then install Opera Mobile

Yes its crap but uhhh you CAN go to the full youtube from it, if it takes you to the mobile one, just look for the link labeled "Classic" which will = Full Youtube. If you're running the latest Flashvideobundle, look for Videos in your Programs section & save yourself the headache, every version of Youtube & what not will be there.

Its for Smartphones, not PDAphones.. uninstall it.

Flashvideobundle doesn't rely on Flash 7, thats where the confusion is.
IMHO just use Flash Mobile 7 for animations on the sites, not video or games. Flash video Bundle version 1.4.3 is what you should be using.

BTW yeah the buffering is annoying, it has to do with the signal you have & the data traffic on the cell tower. Long videos will suffer regardless.

LOL remember its Flash Mobile 7 mobile, so its not going to do anything to the standard of a full blown version, just animations, small-area sections & some games. No Music or Flash made websites, BTW I can't believe
you were trying to use Flash M7 instead of FlashvideoBundle but that may have been because you missed the fact that PIE can use the full youtube & google.

Always, Always look around on the page you go to before you assume it cannot go to the full version of the site.

On both youtube & google the link will be called "Classic" but again, with the latest Skunkware FlashvideoBundle, just go to videoes from your program files & every flash video site supported will be there for you.

Get the latest version here:
http://deblor-freewaresmartphone.blo...ndle-v143.html

Ok so to summarize:

Flash Lite: uninstall that, its not for you.
Flash Mobile 7: No videos, no Radio, No Large-area support. It can handle small games & animations.
PIE: Is crap, However it can go to the full versions of Google & Youtube.
TCPMP: If you are not watching flash videos through here, something is horribly wrong.
Flashvideobundle: is not for in-Browser Flash, it is a plugin to send Flash videos to TCPMP, it only works in PIE.
It'll allow you to watch, save the video or obtain the embedded link.

Hope this clears up things/ helps.

Attached below is everything you will need to watch youtube videos on your ppc and or download them to your device as a flash video.

Adobe Flash Player 7 (freeware)
TCPMP v0.72RC1 (freeware)
Flash Video Bundle 143 (freeware)

This works best with PIE, NOT Opera Mobile.

Have fun.

opera 8.65 version expired??

just installed the opera version 8.65 and when I run it I get an error message "this version of Opera is expired" type of deal. is there some reg hack or something anyone knows about to get past that? i set the date back to July of 2006 and it will load, with a message at the bottom of the browser that it will expire sometime in 2007.
any info would be appreciated.

thanks for the long detailed reply Genjinaro. I will try reloading in the order you recommended. However a couple questions, is it possible to use both Flash 7 for general page animations and also the FlashVideoBundle for video links? It seemed that when I installed the Flash 7, the flashVideoBundle stopped working; meaning I don't get that popup menu to open the link when I click on videos in PIE anymore.

Second, yes I realize I can try to load the classic youtube page in PIE, however it doesn't render properly and eventually hangs the application.

Also, I have heard of some tweaks to help the streaming video play more smoothly but I can't seem to locate them anymore. Anyone know them?

Thanks again.

Yes of course.

That is odd its not doing so for you. I'd try installing Flash M7 1st soft reset and then FVB followed with another soft reset.

Then try seeing if animations come up in PIE, small flash that is. Then try youtube.

Oh I did have the fix for PIE & Youtube, its here somewhere, I got it from a sticky just cant remember which.

For now do the following:

Go to full youtube in Opera mobile, type any video in the search box and search.
When the page finishes loading, copy the url.

Next, open PIE and paste the url into the address bar and load it. Next hit the left softkey and save the page to favorites. The next time you want to go, just look in your favorites.

Post back if it works out.
