people DATA USES BATTERY, prob more so than voice calls. if you have a constant data stream its going to suck your battery!! this is not rocket science here to understand. and theres no "magic" fix other than getting a bigger battery
Not looking for a miracle just thought it would help a bit. I mean whats the point of having a device that has all these features if you ain't going to use them? Not really a question just a statement.

I myself can make it through the day no problem, but if I used so much stuff that I just couldn't, I'd just get a spare.

It'd be super easy to carry a spare with these batteries since they're so small.

Those edits "seem" to help most people, I know they made a big difference for me personally on my other phones, others say they saw no improvement.

If you travel though, just don't try to check it in your luggage, and in your carry on, be sure you've got it in a baggie. : ) http://safetravel.dot.gov/whats_new_batteries.html

While spares aren't that big a deal, I certainly prefer to make it through the day on a single battery. I've only had the registry edits done for a day, but it seemed to help somewhat today. Of course, it's really hard to know for sure if I used the device in the same way from one day to the next. But it certainly didn't make anything worse, and I think it made things better.

are you using OZ im? they say it uses sms not the internet. I've been using it on & off during the day. I'm gonna leave it on all day & see how the battery performs.

OZ im? You mean the one that you have to dl? I'm using the one with aim, msn, and yahoo that you had to dl before it would work with the touch.

I have a great battery life on my Touch. Before it was lousy. I used to have the messaging app. I had to unninstall it. That was causing the drain. I also turn off the bluetooth when I don't needed. Also helps having the screen off when not in use. Now my battery is great. Of course I have to say that I don't use email and messaging a lot. May be different for someone who needs push email or IM all the time.
