They SAY that there is no memory effect with lithium ion batteries. But that's definitely not true.
Its just not a permanent memory effect. Example. I charge my phone every night, no matter how full it is because sometimes the alarm won't go off otherwise. After doing this for a few nights, my battery will drop MUCH quicker than normal and I'll have to let it discharge fully and then recharge it again to get my battery life back. Its still got a memory effect but its not permanent like the older batteries. |

Lithium Ion batteries do NOT have a memory. Manufactures and experts in the field ALL state that it is recommended procedure to charge your battery as needed....keep it topped up. In fact it distesses lithium ion batteries to deep cycle them. Do a Google serch on them to confirm this info....here is a good link to a wiki on them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_ion_battery

I don't see why using a car charger would be any different than a regular charger. I use a bt gps receiver in the car with my touch, sometimes driving up to 8 or 9 hours a day. Obviously that would be impossible without charging the battery. I've done this with my 6600, 6700, and now my Touch and have never had battery problems. - sheureka
