Odd, I was able to restore all 362 of my contacts with it after a fresh hard reset with my Mogul, all in perfect order, even with the most recent changes made to them. Too bad.

I just use what it comes with. HTC Home does it all for me. I only run HTC Home and HTC Sprint Home, that's it, no more.

Humm, I don't get this, not sure but I did find this with a Google.

I've found out what causes this "Failed to Disable RNDIS" problem. If you have a bluetooth device using COM8 and you try to switch to old style networking it will fail with this error. If you change the BT device to COM7 it will succeed in changing over.
Maybe something there.

something to add to the toolbox...

After unchecking the "Advanced network functionality" all I had to do was go to task manager on my PC and click END TASK for Rundll..
Actually I had to kill it a couple of times because the damn thing just didn't want to die. Once it was brutally masacred my ActiveSync said "Hey I see you killed that opressive process so yay lets all get back to working now"

phones aren't manufactured to support everybody and their mothers preference for third party support. I don't get why people get pissed at the touch cuz some non stock crap wont work. Its not htc's job to make sure things they don't make work with things they do.

Thanks Polen. That was it. My BT GPS was on COM 8. Changing it allowed me to turn off Advanced network functionality.

ok... so to set the record straight, i don't hate HTC. i don't hate Sprint... I only wish msoft would've paid more attention when building wm6. one huge complaint is how they still haven't installed a safe mode boot option... people have been requesting that since they came out with wm, why is it such a big deal when 3rd party apps can do it so well?

also i did fix my contact issue thing... and i fixed it quite well... windows live just plain rules. hands down... i'm thouroughly impressed and happy with the Live service. it easily allowed me to upload the CSV of my contacts to my hotmail account, then i signed into that account using live on my touch and BAM! all my contacts were synced instantly!

btw... thanks everyone for your help. i know i probably sound like just another disgruntled windows mobile hater, which in many ways i am. but i do agree that windows mobile is probably the best mobile platform we have... it can just be a pain a lot of the time.

i can't wait till someone somewhere comes out with a stable *nix platform you can flash to your phone...

You have heard of Google's Android, right? It's just exactly that. HTC is going to make one, should be available for purchase this summer.
