I sync with both Vista64 and 32. I keep a back-up copy of my outllook file (just in case). Try Polen's suggestions but also make sure you have the right activesync installed for Vista64.

It always connects correctly for me so double check your settings including removing and reinstalling activesync. What version of Outlook are you running?

Making a Yahoo account & using Yahoo Go 2.0 is another way to save contacts OTA. Even if you dont use Ymail its alsways good to have a online storage of PIM info, incase your SD card or backup files get corrupted.

For the record AVG Firewall has to be turned off completely before Active Sync will work. I know it's kinda off topic, but, whatever.

His post makes no sense. He said he hung while syncing, but he can't fix it because he has no cable?

Reputable site? http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_BatterySt..._WM5_iM_cs.htm Battery program written for WM5 by an XDA hacker?

ok i don't like the iphone... too simplistic for me.

the mail2web option doesn't work because of the inability to import CSV contacts into outlook web access. if there is a way i've missed it...

the second option is still in beta, so i'm awaiting my invitation...

the yahoo go 2.0 isn't compatible with the touch in regards to contact backup/restoration. it just continues to restore the 5 code contacts...

this is the second time i've been forced to do a HR, and i've only had the phone for a month. i love the customizability of the touch... but the bugginess of windows and the thousands of apps out there can be a headache.

i should've installed a safemode program... which i will do this time around.

the problems with AS is more likely attributed to my companies firewall, to which i can't configure or touch.

you are seriously not made for a windows mobile phone. i mean, im not trying to be mean or start a fight, but you seem to be doing more complaining than problem solving. Honestly, windows mobile phones do not need ANY additional software out of the box. They do everything they are supposed to and they do it EXTREMELY well. Why do we install all this crap? Because windows mobile is NOT easy/user-friendly.

But anyways, i doubt the iphone is too simplistic for you.

P.S. Bill Gates is awesome.

Yeah, I have a jailbroken iPod Touch (I really didn't need TWO phones) and it's pretty nifty. Would make a decent phone (different from WM, for sure, but decent) if it weren't for AT&T and the crappy data network. Anyway, once you get that root bash prompt the the vt100 window of the touch/iphone, and you start sftping stuff around, you realize just how simple those suckers are I mean, the last time I did a chmod -R a+rwx * on my windows phone, I thought "when the heck is Apple gonna let me do this?"

Back to the OP - no mail2web can't do CSV export/import. Funboli can (another good reason to use it) I waited a few months for my turn in the beta... but I think they are wide open now, apply again?

Polen --

You mention "try turning off "Advanced network functionality" -- whenever I try to do that, I receive a message box saying "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial". Had the same thing happen when I tried that on my PPC 6700 (now using Touch). Is there a trick to get that to work? Thanks.
