I may be corrected, however I have yet to figure out how to keep the full keyboard up, it seems to switch randomly between the shorthand keyboard and the full keyboard at random in an attempt to anger the user. I just downloaded a new keyboard, here a couple that helped me.

it's possible to make the full keyboard appear consistently, but you'll have to give up certain functionality... read this thread http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1524215&postcount=25 for details. i've been using this for over a month without any problems. i would also suggest you backup the files that this technique will replace.

[NEW] Touch QWERTY PCM Keyboard Skin
Here we go Touch QWERTY Keyboard for PCM Keyboard. It uses the same layout as my previous touch keyboard, whole symbol pad is fully integrated into it. Hold a key for 500ms to symbols beneath it. You can customize what is shown when you hold the key from the layout file. Get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354721 |
