Are you sure you don't have software issues?

I thought I read some users having dpad issues where it would zing to the top or bottom. I forget what the issue/cause was.

It drives me nuts when I have a problem that feels common to all devices and then everyone says not me. But overall quality for a device like this seems pretty good. Try a mogul that thing really creaked.

it does help that you read something about it. So I am not the only one I hope. If you remember please let me know.

I don't think it's software related only because when I did a hard reset and only downloaded opera it did it then too

The dpad has very clear click in and out. Is the dpad popping back out and still scrolling or is it phsyically staying pushed in?

It actually may have been related to fiddling with opera (which build and java are you using)?

the bottom button will click once in and once out but every once in a while will not click twice. now the right key and up key does sound right but that sticks too. When I say stick I mean I will scroll up one line and it's like the button is stick because it will scroll all the way to the top. so I can't call it. I am running Jbed from xda forums and the newest opera mini 4

So they designed it to creak? That's outrageous. Is that to say that all the other electronics with battery compartments covers that DON'T creak are scientifically deficient in their design?

The creaking issue can be easily rectified by inserting a small swatch of foam padding in the phone. Perhaps not as scientific as the original precision design but... I guess you get my drift by now.

Never noticed the creaky issue until now.

Obviously it hasn't been bothering me.

Other than that, no issues.

And the volume slider has been an issue since time immorial...

You people are SUCH bad luck!

This morning, I noticed that the top right of my Touch's screen now has the rainbow effect going on underneath it, just as it would if I would have a cheap screen protector on it that had an air bubble.

DAMN IT!

Now I get to go fight with Sprint. Yay.

EDIT: Make that the top right AND the top left... no sooner did I click submit and went back to browsing on my phone and now the top left is doing it too.

Does HTC know how to do ANYTHING right!?

Re: Build Quality Issues with the Touch

I think i have the same problem as you with the rainbow effect on the screen. ive had this phone for 1 month and it just showed up out of nowhere today. Is this a defect or is it because of me breaking it? did you get it fixed? let me know cause i dont know what to do.

Re: Build Quality Issues with the Touch

To stop the back door creaking just fold a little piece of paper and stick it behind the backing.
Problem solved!
