Re: Test/Play with Android
Over at xda-developers.com, they have a whole thing about vogue/android.
Here's the android faq thread for the vogue/android http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628353

Re: Test/Play with Android
Yes you load it to your sd card that way if you want to switch back to wm you just do a soft reset.
Moving to thread where it's already being discussed.

Re: Is there 100 percent functional Android for Touch ?
So the donut is slower than eclair, but is the donut still faster/snappier than WM? What am I missing between 1.6 and 2.1 Android?

honestly dude... its ridiculously faster. Id even recommend going straight to froyo (2.2) and overclocking to 520 mhz. its runnin fast as heck and stable, get about 1.5 days battery life too. But 2.1 has a few new features, and runs a little faster than 1.6 heres a link-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712310 n check this for an "sd" version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724231 if you flashed to android, to flash back to wimno, u just put it back into bootloader and flash any rom as normal. pm if u need anythin, ive become pretty good with this since i found my old vogue lol

Heed my advise... and it comes from my heart... I had run multiple WinMo ROMS on my Vogue... and yes, it was cool to have something better than just plain Microsoft bs... then came the first Android port by DZO that I used to run on Haret (SD card)... cool... but unstable... pretty to play with, but not good enough to use as a main OS. NOW... Things have improved DRAMATICALLY in the last 18 months... believe me... Android is WAAAAAAAY better on your Vogue than any WinMo cooked ROM can ever be (with all due respect to all cheffs)... So as YnYng said, save yourself the trouble and effort, visit XDA-developers, and go directly to Froyo. IT ROCKS... (don't install JIT Dalvik VM, makes phone freeze and reboot randomly... and I wouldnt overclock all the way to 520MHz unless you want a hot phone... hahahaha)... but seriously, it blows WinMo out of the water even when the video recording does not work... other than that, it is fully functional... I do recommend, install in NAND... don't worry about WinMO... you WILL NEVER LOOK BACK! Just make sure you prepare your data before jumping ship... 1.- Export all your contacts to CSV... then import to your Google account... yes, you have to create one, sorry! (ie. http://superuser.com/questions/38753...ile-to-android) 2.- Export all your SMS using a compatible tool for import in Android (ie. http://android.riteshsahu.com/tips/i...ile-to-android) 3.- Export all your call history using a compatible tool for import in Android (ie. http://www.pocketpcfreeware.mobi/dow...port-v0-1.html) I only exported my contacts, started fresh with my SMS and call history... but it wasn't a biggie. Once in Android, download from the Market "Call Logs Backup & Restore" and "SMS Backup & Restore" by Ritesh Sahu. Enjoy the ride!!! ~fitzbg PS - I need to update my signature line!
