I hope he meant a soft-reset. I am still learning to use downloaded programs and regedit hacks. I aint doing it all over again every two weeks. I can see doing a soft reset everyday just as you restart your computer everyday but a hard reset, tell that sprint guy to stop smoking whatever is smoking.

It does suck that once in awhile it doesnt "wake up" cuz I rely on my touch as my morning alrm clock. I soft reset everyday and havent had a problem in about two weeks.

Hi everyone.
I just wanted to say that i have had this problem from the moment my touch arrived in november ( 5 months at the time of this posting) Sprint has sent me 4 (yes thats right four) new touch devices and they all do the same thing. I did not have any software on the device aside from what came installed. One tech support rep even went as far as re-assinging me a new MSID which kinda upset me because I had the same msid for about 8 years and i still have this problem.

I forgot to mention:
on another call i made to advanced tech support i was told to remove the battery and wait 3 to 5 minutes EVERYDAY to "reset the towers". I continue to do this in hopes that one day it might work even though the battery cover is begining to show signs of wear due to removing it every day. STILL MISSES CALLS

Have had my Touch since the beginning of January and have only had this problem once.

It never happened until I upgraded to 6.1 but now I am running JD's OEM Sprint WM6.1 and have not had a stability problem since then.

I use to have this problem as well with custom 6.1 roms. I disabled the today time-out and made the device stay on permantently (settings->system->power-advaced).. So now, I do not have the missed calls or texts coming out of sleep (because there is no more sleep).. Instead I am missing calls altogether!! People call me, it rings on their end, then goes to voicemail.. A few seconds later, I have a voicemail. Any ideas?!

I would hate to go back to the generic stock Sprint rom and suffer the sluggish speed and lack of threaded txts, but if that is the only way to ensure I'm getting my calls, I will.

Nope ... he did mean a HARD RESET! LOL I heard that and asked him if he meant a soft reset because a hard reset wipes out your whole phone. He told me No, i mean a hard reset. He backs up his phone nightly specifically for that purpose. WHAT A JOKE!

Where do these Sprint reps get this stuff? Erasing all your data doesn't fix a bug. Besides, what's the point if you just restore from a backup anyway?

I have tried everything short of a hard reset. i really ont want to lose eerything. I even did the slot cycle hack. the only thing that seems to help is turning off the power off feature in advance power settings, but then my battery doesn't last even half a day.
this sucks cause i love this phone, but if i can't get my calls it is not gonna work

Maybe HTC does put out some good devices, but the ones I've used (Mogul/Touch) both shared the same problem. I've decided, it's time to move on.

The Treos werent doing it for me anymore. They are nothing to scream about. The latest innovation was to remove the antenna and then come out with the baby of the bunch- the Centro. Did I forget to say WoW?

WinMo (or HTC...take your pick) has taken me through the outer limits of the twilight zone. So now, I'm calling this party over.... I got the Pearl 8130- currently I'm happy - IT WAKES UP!!!!! Once the Curve hits, I'll get that.

I'm done with tweaking just to make a device work. I've spent $1K on phones in less than a year- not counting the Pearl. If my Blackberry starts to fail me, I'll just hook together 2 cans and a string and take my chances from there.

I was having the same problem with my Mogul. I am running the OEM ROM with no registy tweaks. I took it to a Sprint store last month April 08, and was told that it was a known software problem and that a fix is in the works to adddress it. The rep at the store said this problem affects the Touch as well since it has the same processor. The only thing they could do was to offer me a brand new Mogul. So far I have not had the problem.

I just tried turning off the today timeout and when I received a text the notification did not pop up for...Turned it back on and received the notification..My phone is fine most of the time I think..When I'm at work I rarely get any service so I don't know if I'm receiving texts late or if calls are going straight to voicemail..

I think I am done with my touch! I have had my replacement phone for less than a month and the same problems are back again. I have left it stock except for the touch pal keyboard. This is unexceptionable, I need my phone for work and it is no good to me if I miss calls and text messages like crazy!:protest:](*,)

I did it... I flashed the alltel ROM with 6.1 and Gps and REV A.
I have yet to get GPS working but seems more stable so far. Plus I have real threaded texts. Allbeit I have a alltel cube and am missing some sprint apps but will see how it goes.

Does anyone have a cab for the htc quick start thingy with the phone icon, music icon, live search, and sprint tv? I would like that and it is not on this ROM

I use to have all the same problems you guys are mentioning until I finally got fed up and went to the upgrade section, did some research, and reflashed my ROM. Now I never have the not waking up problem any more, plus I am playing with GPS and Rev A. I highly recommend it!

i had the same problem with my touch when i first got it. However ive noticed if u dont press the the button to make it sleep and simply just let the phone idle long enough to sleep (isnt very long with proper settings) then it doesnt happen.

i have the xv6900 htc touch from verizon. I have this same problem that once it sleeps it doesnt wake up for phone calls, texts, alarms, nothing. Has nothing to do with battery level, I can be fullly charged. My phone is virgin out of box. No up grades or changes. My phone has been replaced 3 times. same issues. Just wanted to let everyone know it is not sprint only. it is a manufacturer problem not a network problem.

This problem has dissapeared with the roms that are out especially the custom ones.
