More power long term effects
I was just wondering the Touch comes with 1100mAh will putting a more powered battery have a long term affect I had a 6600 that I found a way to add more power because I'm a heavy internet user a year later it kept on shutting off after %10 of use of the battery real annoying I think I'll wait you guys out to see if you run into any problems I'll stay at 1100mAh a little longer although that sounds good

But back on topic, I sent my battery back via FedEx and they received it on the 28th. I will post again when I get my refund just so you guys have an Idea on how long the total turn-around time for a return. |

OK, now I am very suspicious of Seidio (I'm back on my soap box again guys)!!!!
How much of an improvement does their battery really have versus what they claim? Here is a cut & paste right from their website of what they are marketing.... NOW SHIPPING! This 1500mAh OEM Sized Extended Life Battery will not only replace your current battery, but will also provide up to 20% more power than the battery that initially ships with the HTC Touch. With this battery, you're gaining considerably longer device usability, without extending the shape of your phone. For those users on the go without access to an external charging alternative, this battery will give the extra boost in life that you need! The math does not add up (per Seidio's claims above).... 1100mAh - Stock battery 1320mAh - 20% Improvement over stock 1500mAh - What Seidio claims their battery is (but this would be a 36.5% improvement over stock)!!!! Which is it... 20% improvement or 36.5% improvement over stock? You can't make a 20% improvement claim over stock and make us think it is a 1500mAh battery which then should be marketed as a 36.5% gain (more power is the words they use) and more power would mean more capacity (which is what their marketing)... so now I really wonder who is doing their marketing and/or engineering testing and proofing what they state on their website? Some have tested the Seidio extended battery ( 3 different forum/sites are discussing this very topic) and some have gotten between 1100mAh and 1300mAh... and this would be close to the 20% claim they make. Some have claimed longer battey life with their battery, but is it performing like a 1500mAh battery or just a 1300mAh battery???? To be fair to Seidio... is our math wrong and some new sort of "new math" has been developed that we are not aware of? Oh, please do advise.... ![]() Last edited by Beachbumcook; 01-02-2008 at 12:23 AM. |

To be fair to Seidio.. they claim of "up to 20% improvment over stock" (as of 1/1/0
![]() Some must be getting 1% and some getting something more from their Seidio battery.... even though we are lead to believe that it would be 20% per their website claims or is that 36.5% due to being marketed as a 1500mAh battery and the stock/OEm one is 1100mAh??? Dam... I am so confused by their marketing claims!!!!! |

Ok... now I am really confused by Seidio's website claims.
When I bought my battery in November 2007, I printed their webpage for this battery and it clearly states that their battery offers a 20% - 25% gain over the stock battery. Now, when I look at their site (January 1, 2008 ) it only now states "up to a 20% improvement (no mention of 25% anymore). Wonder what happened that made them change their webpage for this item? Here is their link for the battery... http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=879 Wonder why they deleted the 25% gain number???? My new take on this battery and Seidio is that they may be now second-guessing their marketing claims... but I have no way to know and can only form an opinion from what I read on their website. |

I am still amazed that Seidio will monitor this forum (and others) and reply to posters who claim to have a problem, but have yet to offer any evidence or explanation to their "mis-steps" or our "concerns".
Issues I would like Seidio to answer: 1) What is the true mAh rating of the 1500 battery and how is/was it tested? Was industry excepted testing procedures used and do you use an outside 3rd party company to validate? 2) What is the true percentage gain of this battery over the stock one? First your website states 20% - 25% gains.... now it only states 20% gains... and doing the math, it should read 36.5% if the Seidio battery really is rated at 1500mAh? 3) The tight fit of the 1500mAh battery is an issue and was it "looked into" prior to the launch of the Sprint Touch? Does the hard to close back cover hurt the electronics of the battery? Does it make the battery run "hot" due to less airflow? I can not make my questions (as well as others) any more simple and clear. Why will Seidio monitor this forum (and others) and not be willing to "come clean" and document the performance of their battery? Why do they just "duck and dodge" the questions posed above? Yes, we are curious... yes, we are worried... yes, we do not believe your marketing claims... and yes, we want to know if we are getting our monies worth or not!!!!! These are legitamate questions and concerns that demand legitatmate answers.... and until then, people on this forum (and others) will keep "blasting away" at Seidio in hopes of educating the "masses and readers of this forum" and at least creating a "buyer beware" state of mind for prospective buyers of this battery. ps... Seidio processed my credit/return in less than 1 week... so it does not take long (for me at least) for them to process after receiving my battery back (thank you Seidio). |

Jeez! Come on guys!
Seidio said that the batteries are rated at 1500mah. I did my own tests with a 3rd party and the batteries are rated what Seidio is advertising. Even though that is true they are standing by their products and even if your 30 days are gone they are refunding your money. What else you want? The persistence of you guys to keep throwing mud in the face of a respectable company that has been providing us quality products for years is just unacceptable. It just makes me wonder if you guys work for Mugen or something. If you have scientific evidence that their products are not up to their claims (not some freaking software that is not designed to measure battery capacity in the first place) bring it on so we can all see it or better yet call your attorney general and file a complaint. If not please walk away and let all the unfounded and irrational accusations be burried in the PPCGeeks Archive. Your nagging over stuff that you either never bought or already returned is wasting my bandwith. |
