Re: SD card corrupt?

ok, so im new to the touch. had this card in my mogul without issue. it went from alltel mogul, to sprint mogul, to touch-

i put my memory card into my computer, and now its seeing my card as an XD picture card!!! i was trying to back copy it to my computer, because i know anout the corruption problem. My computer only gives me the option to format it, but when i put it back in my phone, its fine.

My question is, it looks like im not going to be able to back it up on my computer, without formatting it, cuz my touch messed it up.

BUT, if i sync thru WMDC and then do it....do you guys think it will corrupt my card and render it unusable until i format it? I have alot of important things on my card that i cant afford to lose. Anyone?

Still have your mogul? use it to read and back up the stuff first? have another card reader that can see the card?

Re: SD card corrupt?

would it be possible for someone to write a program that runs in the background and simulates pulling the card out and putting it back in every half hour or so?? It seems to me when the card is corrupt, pulling out and putting back in fixes problem, and if problem is not fixed when something tries to write to card, the corruptions become permanent.

It'd be more helpful to have a program that can be ran manually when it becomes corrupted.. It's a pain to remove the battery cover to get the card out!

Yeah, but... The real problem may be physical. See:

Re: SD card corrupt?

I have the strangest issue. It looks like my touch turned my Storage Card into a “Storage Card” directory… Everything is working fine because I can access all my files, but when I went to any settings screen it would say the storage card is not installed, I can actually pull the card and it makes no difference.

The really strange part is I *never* made this directory nor did I copy my files there, but off of the root I have a Storage Card directory with all my memory card files in tact…

This is friken’ weird…

Oh and it looks like my card is toast, as I can’t read it in any of my computers… I plan on trying my camera tonight to see if I can just get it formatted to read in my computer or phone.

Thanks…

Scott

Update: I was finally able to format the card, I had to use my camera. None of my computers would read it, I tried 4 systems and 3 different adapters, non worked. I was then able to move the data from my internal directory back to the storage card and everything is working fine again.
Strangeness...

Had this problem too, nothing I had could read it, returned it to vendor, he claims it works. What Brand size is your SD card?

Re: SD card corrupt?

I wasnt able to play songs stored on the memory card...

i found that memaid performance tweak had set this value to 256 instead of the default 64
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Drivers/SDCARD/ClientDrivers/Class/MMC_Class/BlockTransferSize

I set it back and songs played fine.
