Re: SD card corrupt?

So many forums and problems with these stupid memory cards corrupting.

Why does Sprint always act surprised when I call to ask them if there have been any fixes? They always say that it is not a "known issue".

Today, I was snapping a picture, which writes to my memory card, and I tried to mail it...it gave an error saying something to the effect of no memory location. I then realized, it messed up AGAIN.

I went to the directory for 100MEDIA and NO PICTURES!!!!

I took the card out, and put it in the card reader for my computer, and everything was there, no problems, not even any gibberish symbols.

I put it back into my card, no pictures.

It seems to now happen ONLY to the files in the 100MEDIA folder.

I have read about a fix from Greece for the Orbit or Artemis or something like that.

I have read a reg hack to change some numbers in the registry.

I have read that the new 6.1 will help.

I have gotten a new phone, same thing.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions? Soft resetting and taking the card and cleaning off the contacts did not help today. Sometimes soft reset will bring it back and once it came back on its own...no clue why. This is so frustrating!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks...

Re: SD card corrupt?

First off, i'd like to apologize for not having the time to read this entire thread due to being at work, but i've been having similar issues with my card except that my phone, no matter WHAT i do, won't read my 8g card anymore... it was working PERFECTLY until my buddy shows up with a HiPhone... i dunno if any of you guys have seen this thing, but its a horrible iphone spin-off lol (just check ebay)...
So i put my sdhc card in it to see how well it plays vids/mp3/etc.... well, i couldn't even get to the card through the phone and when i put it back in my mogul, it doesn't read it, as if nothing was in the slot. My desktop can't locate it either.
So i'm guessin this Hiphone royally crashed/shut down my one-week-old $100 card! Is there ANYTHING i can do...

Thank for everything in advance

Try to put it into a Camera that reads SDHC cards and reformat it there. I had this same problem..

Another suggestion would be to contact the manufacturer and quickly gather up everything they need from you to issue you a replacement or repair.

hope that helps,

Re: SD card corrupt?

Just thought I'd share my story as well. I just recently purchased a touch from sprint and a week later I was getting problem with sprint tv not finding my account information then I noticed my pictures not showing up and when I checked I had no access to the SD card. I tried removing and reinserting about 20 different times even after connecting the card to my card reader on the pc which showed my files but the Touch wouldn't detect a card inserted. I did a hard reset back to factory and still no luck with the card showing up on the Touch figuring the touch SD port was bad I contacted Sprint customer service got a eticket for repair and the next day went to my local repair center to have it serviced. I told the rep everything I did and he said we'll just swap out with a new phone then. He set it up and made sure it made and recieved calls, tv worked and put my origonal SD card in. The rep then asks me if I wanted all the accessories from the replacement phone as they weren't going to do anything with them so twist my arm I took them. When I got out to my car I double checked the SD and it still wasn't showing up. I took the new card from the box and it worked just fine. I guess the card was bad but oh well I now have 2 of each accessory including the battery which they never give away when replacing a phone. When I got home I reformated the SD card and it works fine. So a quirk on the part of a corrupt SD card got me a replacement phone and now I have 2 of everything .... wooohoooo!!!!!

Re: SD card corrupt?

I have had this problem 3 times since the Alltel upgrade and its really getting annoying. Initially, it happened after I installed Google Maps. I couldn't access my pictures directly from the SD Card. I could view them through TCPMP but not directly. Then I did a hard reset. Everything was fine for a week. Then, stubborn as I am (and believing that Google Maps can't possibly be the culprit), I re-installed Google Maps... and again it happened! I did a hard reset and re-installed everything again.

Then I just installed Opera Mini 4 and Jbed. No problems noted. Then when I tried to view my pictures in the SD Card, again it says "There is no application associated with"___" (name of file). Run the application first, then open the file from within the application." I can plays my music and videos (through TCPMP). I can view the pictures through TCPMP but not directly by tapping on them.

Can anybody help me please? Any input/help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: SD card corrupt?

I tried checking again today but no success. No problem viewing videos and listening to music but I can't view my pictures directly.

Would anyone be able to help me?

Thanks a lot.

Re: SD card corrupt?

Lost my photos AGAIN! Thank God for ZAR (free photo recovery software). Almost pulled the trigger on a new memory card, but seems like it probably wouldn't fix the problem. Will the new rom fix it? We can only hope..
