i have mine working... i noticed that the newest live search version installs the program to different folders. the previous version was installed in \program files\live search\live search\live search.exe, while this new version installs \program files\live search\livesearch.exe.
notice the lack of the space in the name of the exe file. so whatever shortcuts or pointers in the registry will def not point to the right location.

I downloaded an app called "ReMapSoftKey" from freewareppc.com. here is the link: http://www.freewareppc.com/download/...softkeys.shtml

You can use this to change the title and link to your 2 soft keys on the bottom of the screen. This way you can take the "HTC Home Sprint" thing off your today screen and clear up some valuable space. I changed my "Calendar" to "GPS Maps" and had it link Live Search and I change my "contacts" to link to my aftermarket "photo contacts" program.

It doesn't make much sence to have the calendar soft key because most people have the calendar on the today screen.

Live Search link Not working

what's up guys new to the forum, hello all. I really need some help with this problem. I have tried to change the files from read only to try to fix the gl files but cannot do it. I like the sprint bar on my homes screen and want to continue using it so is there any other way to make the live search link work.

The Path changed with the new LiveSearch update. Replace the two attached files to fix the problem. The original files are located in /Windows. Use resco exp or total commander to change the read only attrib. and copy the two files over. Soft reset and you are good to go.

thanks for the help guys and thanks for the files it worked out great and now my link works. Sounds crazy but little things like that drive me crazy just knowing it doesn't work erks me. Anyway I used soti Pocket Controller pro to change the files from read only. I tried resco and total commander and neither did it.
