ok, i know that people have been asking this a lot, but so far i have not been given an actual answer about this.

1) how did you get rid of the "phone, headphones, pictures, search, and sprint tv" icons at the middle bottom? is that mobile shell? and if so, which one? i tried downloading a few spb mobile shells and they are like a completely different operating system.

2) i downloaded and installed weather panel and phat phingers themes and such, however i'm stuck with the original viewing where it's in a little scroll bar item right below my upcoming appointments.

3) if ANYBODY knows how to completely customize the icons, i would like to know. i want to customize the few icons i want on my main screen, but i dont know how to get whatever photo i want to replace the original icons.

If anybody can help me out with these, it would be greatly appreciated... and i promise pics of my touch once i'm finished. ^-^

Go to Settings->Today->Items
Uncheck OperatorPlugin
Check SPB Mobile Shell

Don't use SPB menu if you only want the today plugin

In Weather Panel Settings, Select PhatPhinger Theme, icons etc.

How about using Allen Field House for a background? Although I do love that shot of the Campanile.

Well after playing with mine for awhile, this is what I have come up with:



I tried hard not to clutter up the screen too much with useless and/or redundant buttons and notifications, and I'll probably play with it some more, but it's not bad. It serves my purposes well. I'm thinking of removing Weather Panel from the main screen and creating a tab at the top for that so I can try a full screen phoneAlarm skin. I'm a little bit obsessive so it will probably be a continuously evolving today screen, but I'm glad this phone is so customizable!

The only extra software I used is SPB Pocket Plus 4, phoneAlarm, and Weather Panel.
