okay guys, i've read thru this thread and i am somewhat confused.

i currently have the unlimited vision plan for $15.00/month and would like to tether free of charge.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

1) for the registry edit above, do i delete the contents of "extension" ("rilphone.dll"), or do i delete "extension" which contains "rilphone.dll" ?
***will this disable sprint from noticing that i am tethering?

2) in order to tether, once i have edited the registry as stated above, i would then need to open up an internet connection on my phone, open I.S., leave the setting on usb, but change from "phone as modem" to "Sprint PCS", then plug usb into the touch. then i will have internet connection on my laptop thru my touch?
***will i have any additional charges on my phone bill for this tethering?

3) i've read somewhere thru ppcgeeks that i will have to disble my NAI (network access identifier.....i think that's what it stands for) in order to avoid detection of my tethering. I'm not even sure what that is or where i would need to go to change that.

I've never tethered before for fear of some outrageous phone bill i may receive the following month, but i would like to try, i just want to make sure i have my bases covered and that i do it properly before i jump into it.

Appreciate the input fellas. Have a great one

1. I deleted the extensions which is assigned that value.

2. Once that is done you do not have to open an IE page first. Just go to Internet Sharing and make sure your pc connection is set to the right one (usb or bluetooth). Then make sure the network connection is set to sprint pcs then hit connect. Bingo your done. I have never had any additional charges on my bill.

Just look at my post on page one, step by step. Then do a search for rilphone.dll "within this thread" using the search within this thread top right of page and do that, all very easy.

You need unlimited data (vision) to avoid data charges.

Re: Tethering A Touch

Do you need to have activesync installed at all for this?

I have different laptops and I was hoping to not have to sync with one of them... THX
