^ yeah, but the company has been touting this item since last year and at the rate the company is going, who knows when the 5.0 version is gonna ship much less the 6.0 version.
As for the other issue of it not having GPS, I am looking over the fact sheet and no where does it state GPS, yet in the actual Sprint version manual, (on page 47 and on pg 173 in the specifications section) it states it has an internal GPS. So at this point who knows if the Sprint Touch has GPS. Not even Sprint is consistant with the info. HTC isn't much help either. The European version manual only mentions External GPS on page 42 and nothing about an internal one. Edit: Although rumour has it a software update will provide GPS, I'm curious as to how often Sprint does these software updates. Last edited by twospirits; 11-03-2007 at 10:58 PM. |

I also noticed that when he opened PIE, the Sprint launchpad site identified the Touch as the HTC 6900. I have a question about finger scrolling. Does it work everywhere? I know you can scroll down/up on PIE, but can you do it with your contacts, e-mail lists, e-mails themselves? Has anyone tried it with 3rd party apps? One that comes to mind is Newsbreak, it'd be awesome to be able to use finger scrolling while reading RSS feeds on Newsbreak.

For example, Spb Pocket + will let you scroll through your e-mails, but not the e-mail itself after it's open. And if the Touch did this for every app, I may even consider switching to it. Being able to finger-scroll through my RSS feeds and opened e-mails is a huge function. I use the side wheel on the Mogul, but it's not too fast. Thanks for the input though! |
