If it did, you'd think Sprint would mention it in their own fact sheet

This has to be a joke, for real. I wonder why other sites have reviewed it as having Wi-Fi. Hopefully the Wi-Fi hardware is on the board but just "disabled" and a quick ROM update will fix it. I didn't believe it until I saw the Sprint memo. However the support for up to an 8 Gig card is pretty sweet. I will wait for a bit after it comes out to make my final decision, but I definitely won't be the first one in line to buy it unless they can guaranty Wi-Fi.

I don't think they'll do that because wifi was a part of the phone to start with. The reason I think it took so long for Sprint to pick up the Vogue is because they were in the process of crippling it by taking out the internal GPS chip and wifi. Actually with SDHC it may allow support for cards up to 32 gigs. So in 2-3 year times when those cards are readily available they might even work with the Vogue.

Personally for me, I'll try it and return it if I don't like it. Wifi is not a deal breaker really since I only really use the data plan, and if it's Rev A, then I'm okay with that. If you also look at the measly battery included with the Touch you'll begin to wonder if having wifi is really practical for such a battery.

But I Really really really hope by taking the wifi radio out they make sure that there's a worthy BT radio in there. I would hate to experience sub par stereo bt audio all over again.

Anyways, we'll see. I think the Vogue is going to be a GREAT hit and might even get labelled as an "iphone killer". I say that because I look at the GSM version which only has a 200 mhz processor and people are really diggin it. I think it sold a lot too.

Too bad we have to settle for less, though. It's a real shame.

Hmmm. I guess the "jury" is still out on the WiFi....With my "connection" at the local Sprint store I know I can get into a Mogul for $0 or wait till upgrade in Dec and pay $149 for the Touch. If Sprint actually crippled the Touch's WiFi, I see that as a bad move. I may just take the freebie Mogul and run.

I agree with that. I was all onboard for a Mogul. Read the posts, and realized that it had problems and stayed with my 6700. When a kitchen for the Mogul comes out, I might get one, since it looks like Sprint deleted Wifi....
