I don't think they'll do that because wifi was a part of the phone to start with. The reason I think it took so long for Sprint to pick up the Vogue is because they were in the process of crippling it by taking out the internal GPS chip and wifi. Actually with SDHC it may allow support for cards up to 32 gigs. So in 2-3 year times when those cards are readily available they might even work with the Vogue.
Personally for me, I'll try it and return it if I don't like it. Wifi is not a deal breaker really since I only really use the data plan, and if it's Rev A, then I'm okay with that. If you also look at the measly battery included with the Touch you'll begin to wonder if having wifi is really practical for such a battery.
But I Really really really hope by taking the wifi radio out they make sure that there's a worthy BT radio in there. I would hate to experience sub par stereo bt audio all over again.
Anyways, we'll see. I think the Vogue is going to be a GREAT hit and might even get labelled as an "iphone killer". I say that because I look at the GSM version which only has a 200 mhz processor and people are really diggin it. I think it sold a lot too.
Too bad we have to settle for less, though. It's a real shame.
