They finally posted the official update on the PCD Phones website.

I've downloaded the update, but I guess I may wait until all the knowledgable people here decide how good this update is. I just got my XV6900 and want to upgrade it...

I grabbed the rom from the first post of this thread. But to be honest. I would wait a few days or so to see if the official release rom works in the same manner with the unlocked GPS, etc first and if people have any issues updating from the first one.

I will begin to do some testing with this official update over the weekend and report back on my findings.

i am using it and its fast and so far stable, installed M2D and Diamond Keypad and seems to work fine xcpt M2D themes crash all the time. That and when i installed it their was NO VZ navigator, wonder what is up with that?

Did you let the customizations run?

For my first attempt at unlocking and loading a GPS ROM, I had originally intended to use the standard "safe" path. But this new update was too tempting! So I installed it, but soft reset before the customizations ran (didn't want to limit the GPS like the leaked version seemed to do).

I haven't experimented with it much, and didn't have much experience with the original software since I've had my XV6900 for less than a week.

Here are the Device info settings if anyone is curious:
ROM version: 3.14.605.1
ROM date: 10-03-08
Radio version: 3.37.78
Protocol version: DCAAXOM-4350H
Hardware version: 0001
PRL version: 51210
PRI version: 1.37_002

I will probably be loading a custom ROM in a bit, but if anyone needs some info just ask.

yepp, i let the customizations run, no navigator, weird, all the other VZW stuff installed, would never use it but just noticed it not their

I installed - only issue I ran into so far is that I had to call Verizon because my phone couldn't be authenticated, even after doing #228 option 1 and option 2.

Data worked fine , but until I called them I couldn't make or receive calls. Good thing too - I missed 3 calls from a rather relentless collections agent ROFL!

Did you install the Vahalla GPS cab or do you plan to and if so did it work?

If it worked, absolutely I would use it!

All I have installed thusfar is the Verizon update. Was running on original ROM that the phone came with. No radio updates either.
