Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Wow! I am totally impressed with this ROM - GPS locks almost instantly for me - I've never seen this kind of GPS repsonsiveness from even standalone GPS units. Also am noticing the battery does last longer. Good job Bell.

BTW IGO 8 did act up and had to uninstall and reinstall a few times but is solid now... kinda weird but works very well in the end.

what version do you use? "June24"? is the executable "fixed" against standby issues?

I see that in my phone the weird behavior of iGO is somehow related to standby... sometimes (for example, when GPS is not locked)
it freezes on selection of some menu options,
and to unfreeze it
one needs to push TWO times "standby" hardware button on the top of the
phone...

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

I had that and almost gave up on IGO - I uninstalled and reinstalled and that seemed to do the trick. My igo ver is 8.0.0.31442 (Mar 13 2008 ). Just tried it and GPS came on instantly in a spot (my sunken family room) where I never ever got a lock before.

On the other hand maybe it was the fact that I installed Astrolauncher that did it... are you using Astrolauncher to run igo or maybe another sware to "prime" the GPS?

BTW I've used IGO, Navigon and Tomtom and IGO has the best UI in my opinion so its worth the effort to get it going.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

I tried re-locking my phone, so I ran Coke's 0.40 Unlocker, then flashed using Bell's rom. The SPL is now 2.01.0000. Is that what it should be? Thanks!

Thanks gp-se. No, it doesn't say coke anymore. Just confused because read someone say it should be 0.36. Perhaps the SPL changed since the original 1.xx stock Bell rom?

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

There's no difference in functionality (except of course you can flash custom roms). I locked my phone for warranty purposes, that's all.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

I haven't read anybody else mention this discrepancy. When I start up my touch the very first screen shows in red type is that my ROM Version is 3.09.666.1 not the 3.08.666.1 as everybody else's. I downloaded the rom from the link in the 4th post so I have the same one as everyone else, so I can only assume it just a typo by HTC. I can't check my "Device Information" because I am running a custom rom.
