Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!
I flashed up from the "official" Sprint ROM to the new Bell ROM... I had igo8 on my SD card so naturally it wanted to automatically install it. igo8 launches but hangs when the word "STARTING" appears. Basically it won't boot. I even hard reset the phone several times and reinstalled igo8... same thing. Anyone have any success installing and actually using igo8? What's the secret? Perhaps Bell has done something?

I'm going to keep trying different things til I get it to work... this is crazy... it was working good with my previous Sprint ROM. I must be a glutton for punishment.

Long Story: 1) I removed my sd card from the phone (SD Card has igo8 folders on it). 2) I then did a hard reset as to erase any trace of igo8 from the phone (not a big deal since I just upgraded to new Bell ROM anyhow and haven't fully customized yet) 3) I installed the AstroGPS primer and then placed the accompaning igo8 launcher file in: Device/Windows/Startup Menu/Programs 4) I then reinserted the SD card and let igo8 install itself automatically on the phone. Once installed, igo8 will attempt to boot up... it will either boot up successfully or it will stall when it shows the word "Starting". 5) Close igo8 any way you can. (I pressed the power button off and on repeatedly to get a different window to show until eventually i got igo8 closed. You could also soft restart the phone) 5) From now on, launch igo8 by clicking on the "igo8 launcher" icon and not the igo8 application icon This should work. Short Story: I have experimented several times with different methods and have since come to realize that all you really need to do is to launch igo8 from the igo8Launcher (primer) file instead of the igo8 application itself. Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!
Hey all, Newbie here.
Just flashed my Touch with the new rom ( phone was stock unlocked original bell rom). Wow, talk about a massive improvement. This phone rocks! I have couple of quick questions: 1. In regards to data use, are we charged for roaming data use, say, if we're outside the GTA ( ie. Kitchener )? or is it only for state side? 2. Never heard of igo, but based on the ranting and raving here, I am dying to try it. First, where can i get it (I would really appreciate a PM). Second, how much space does it take as TT is massive and I simply don't have the room for it. Thanks a mill. Mark |

VIRSER_GPS.dll, you can find it in the old kitchen posts...typing on my touch keyboard, so sometimes i loose the end of words due to fat fingers. I use the latest version of google maps, locks within a few seconds... no issues at all.
