Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

The last part of your post doesn't make sense "can not just flash from a locked bell rom" why would Bell release a rom that can not update there official phones and requires someone else's software to update the phone unless they offer there own unlocking software?

does not seem to lock after flash. and can only be updated if already unlocked. can not just flash from a locked bell rom

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Hey All,

I flashed this official ROM too on my unlocked Vogue and no there is no need to relock first.. I had unlocked as usual previously and recently up'd my radio to the newer Telus 3.42.30.

Couple of things...didn't notice any diff with radio from 3.42.30 to 3.42.50 Customizations ran np (as would be expected). I did notice a couple of things...

GPSNAV is actually Telenav which Bell will charge you per day or per month. so be careful (it asks which you want to buy when you start it). I installed GPSViewer and ran it, didn't seem to lock sats in any faster or slower than on previous cooked ROM (using WhosdaMan's ROM BTW)...

Some new Apps included like TV & Radio but when you run them they say "coming soon" LOL

When not running any apps, mem usage is nice and low at 33% so I guess that's a plus Performance appears ok, but there's not much too this ROM and so if you've already up'd your radio to 3.42 or something else and are happy with it then I'd say stick with what you've got. I'm about to reflash WhosdaMan's ROM back on...

Hope that helps!

Of course as usual all flashing is at your own risk

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

I seen this posted on Howardforums, don't know how true it is........but knowing Bell, you decide?

It goes without saying that if you already have a 'cooked' ROM with GPS when installing this Bell ROM you will have to pay to use the GPS feature at a cost of $3.50/day or $8.00/month if you choose to use this feature. I guess Bell figured people were using other ROM's to enable GPS and that people were using it so why not enable GPS and charge money for it, same for the TV and Satellite Radio.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Great as far as flashing this rom, looks like it is a simple flash and we can revert back to any cooked rom but I wonder about the post I found at Howardforums as it followed by and posted to by Bell CSRs.

Edit:

From Howardforums;

There is no charge for those applications only when you click on the GPSNav icon and only if you agree to the fees. If you already have TomTom, Google Maps, or other GPS applications you will not be charged.

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

From what I understand is that you'll pay if you use Bell's GPS Software... But as long as you use Google Maps or other, you wont be charged...

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

Just found Ppst____.cab
inside the archive RUU_Vogue_4350_BM_WWE_3.08.666.1_Radio3.42.50_Ship .exe

To run or not to run? (on my still NFSFAN's 1.13 ROM)
