Guess the next thing is to take ROM chef off of my sig.
had a simmilair problem...to fix it just like i would my phone...wiped the drive and everything reinstalled and was good to go from there no need to remove that chef from your sig

I had always assumed it was some kind of misconfig that was preventing it from working. I really don't understand how this could work once and not again.

How do you know it is an aGPS lock?

Google Maps located me (blue dot) but still showed 0 satellites. It wasn't 100% accurate, but within a few blocks of my location. I'm assuming this is an aGPS lock? I don't think I could actually get a satellite from my office.

Well, let me check the stats you have gathered on your battery usage.....

Hmmm, I don't see them. Perhaps you should describe your issue and gather evidence of a problem instead of just asking a vague and uninformative question. What exactly is terrible battery life? And please dont respond with even more useless observations like "I usually start the day with 100% and come home with 15% when I would end up with 75% before".

Also remember that multiple variables have now changed.

A. You are using your phone more often I assume as you are trying new stuff out and testing different things.

B. You have more apps loaded that will use up power if you have them running.

C. There are apps including acbPowerMeter and No2chem's battery cpl that actually show you your battery usage so you dont have to blindly guess.

Hmmm, I wonder how Bell does this. It sounds quite interesting. Then again, I get locks with 6-8 sats sitting in the middle of my house.

much has changed in the20270 kitchen! all for the better! i love the beginning of your response, haha. the stats were invisible . and i usually come home with 70% not 75%
A. using phone less often actually at work, have the same apps that i used in the 19588 kitchen basically. PHone is used mainly as a text machine at work wiht lots of roaming and no service spots.
B. Less apps, just the ones needed. on the 19588 kitchen i had a bunch of crap i never used so i kicked it out.
C. i will have to flash again, and inclide NO2Chems battery cpl and see what i get.

Thanks for responding

Using the phone in a very weak coverage area is known to drain the battery very quickly.

Maybe the sats fly lower near your place

But seriously, I'm wondering if the aGPS problem is limited to Bell users. Can someone actually confirm that aGPS works for them and who their provider is.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that something is up with this rom and aGPS (at least for Bell users). All other roms I've used get aGPS locks quickly. I flashed back to another non-20270 rom a few days ago and the aGPS was back to working. when I made another new rom with 20270 the problem came back.
